"The Q Awards 2003 were held last week in London and this year's event ushered in the Q Innovation Award in association with Harman Kardon. The award was instigated to recognise those ground breaking artists, DJs and producers who are re-defining the music we hear and the new experience of sound.
The inaugural winners of the Q Innovation Award were Muse (pictured here with Harman Kardon MD, James Roth), whose third album, Absolution, is a sonic revolution, in the eyes of the judges. It's an enormous, vibrant canvas, splashed with irreverent noise and beat off stiff opposition from Goldfrapp, Richard X, Super Furry Animals and David Gray.
Alongside a shiny new Q Award trophy, Muse will get two days at Strongroom Studios in London, remixing one of their tracks into glorious 5.1 surround sound, all courtesy of Harman Kardon.
Harman Kardon has been at the forefront of musical innovation for the past 50 years and its DVD players, amps and surround sound receivers are award winners in themselves, finding a place right at the heart of the digital music revolution.
Harman Kardon is part of Harman International, the world's largest professional audio company, which encompasses legendary musicians' brands such as JBL, Lexicon, AKG and Soundcraft.
If you want to find out why the scribes at Q magazine listen to all their music on Harman Kardon systems, you can hear for yourself at your nearest dealer.
