The Resistance was all about creating something out of the norm...... you have artists like Kanye, Lady Gaga, and others producing shitty songs for millions. Muse realized this and decided F**K MAINSTREAM MEDIA we are going to create a spectrum of music instead of a music album and thats what they did. Uprising is like a riot calling that Matt takes charge in front. United States of Eurasia is a full blown tribute to Queen. The others make this treat even better.
The symphony on top of that is genius. Lets see you make a symphony which would include a rock band and make it sound like it did.....and GO! Also Bellamy is a classically trained pianist and it definitely shows in this album as well. On top of that you have I Belong To You which is a simple tribute to the aria called Mon Cœur S'ouvre À Ta Voix from a famous english opera Samson and Delilah.
Now they created totally different types of music into one album called The Resistance.
Their past albums have included a theme. Absolution was a dark, deep, gloomy album and Black Holes had this space vibe to it and the future written all over it. Muse got bored with that because thats how music is being portrayed more and more and they created this new album to make the listeners think about the origins of their music instead of just "listening".
Now I can go on forever on how I am right after all this but all I am wanting to show is that Muse deserves respect in the States and I am giving them 110% of mine.
If this is the first album of Muse you have listened to, go listen to Black Holes and Revelations or even Absolution. They will blow your mind just as much as this latest one.
