On April 15, 2007 Edgefest 16 took place in Frisco, TX after months and months of waiting. The event began around the early hours of the morning and ended late into the night. At the beginning, the opening bands played though the audience didn't commit their full attention to them, preferring to waste their real screams and shouts for the best band later on. The fans baked under the burning sun as the day went on just waiting for the real show to start around 5pm. They waited and waited until finally it was announced that Muse would be coming on after AFI. Immediately the crowd pushed with all of their mightiest to get on front and witness the amazing show. There were shouts and screams possibly even tears as the three Brit rockers stepped into the stage and began prepping up. The noise was unbelievable. whoops were also heard as people noticed Dom dressed in a spiderman costume-he obviously couldn't wait for it's release. After several more minutes they were finally prepped and ready to show off their incredible talent. People screamed and screamed...at last the moment they had been waiting for had come at last, after months of waiting.
"I won't stand in your way
Let your hatred grow..."
The first two lines of Stockholm Syndrome rang throughout the stadium- everybody was clapping and going crazy...they played and played wowing the crowd with their incredible live skills. Halfway through the gig however, it was interrupted when the gates at the front of the stadium broke and a person got "trampled on." He turned out to be all right but everybody was ordered to take 3 steps back...of course everyone obeyed as they didn't want to miss this wonderful opportunity to see Muse live. As soon as everything was back in order, Muse resumed the show with Starlight impressing the crowd again. Finally after playing several more songs including Map of the Problematique, New Born, Time is Running Out, and Butterflies and Hurricanes, they finished with an unbelievable performance of Knights of Cydonia...and soon it was over. Hundreds of disappointed fans protested as they left the stage but it didn't matter. They had seen the BEST band perform a brilliant show but no worries...there are still many more Edgefests to some.
