Muse to headline Download 2008

Download Festival 2007 director Stuart Galbraith has hailed this year's event and announced plans to move the three day rock bash back a week next year.

Tickets for the event, which will take place over the weekend of June 13-15 in 2008, are due to go on sale this Friday (June 15) at 9am at this year's prices.

He said: "The weekend has been absolutely fantastic and ran extremely smoothly. There has been a significant reduction in numbers treated for serious medical reason, and there have been no major incidents to report.

"We've have also decided to push the festival back next year to compliment the European festival circuit because all their events have been pushed back too."

Galbraith also told NME.COM that he would love AC/DC, Foo Fighters and Muse to headline the festival in 2008.

"I would have these three because they reflect the enormous breadth of rock music at Download," he said. "We'd have Foo Fighters and Muse because they're cutting edge and I'd have AC/DC because they're absolutely classic and I've wanted them to play here for the last five years."
