Muse Planning Huge Surprise

30th May 2008

ROCK aces Muse are secretly planning a huge collaboration to make their Virgin Mobile V Festival slot blow Glastonbury away.

With the Worthy Farm event failing to gather much anticipation, it seems punters plan to get their muddy kicks elsewhere.

I caught up with Muse drummer Dom Howard at the Union Chapel in London on Wednesday night, where he performed with Razorlight buddy Andy Burrows, 28.

Dom told me: “We are looking into a big collaboration for V but we need to see if it’ll work out first.

“It’s good to get back out on the road. It keeps us fresh as we don’t like to sit around.

“We’re doing some shows in Europe and South America but you really have to step it up at a festival.

“Even though we have a good live reputation we put a lot of thought and planning into our shows.”

And he revealed work has started on the next Muse album. Dom said: “We’ve written three or four new songs and they’re sounding sweet.”

The 30-year-old sticksman was chuffed to be part of Andy’s first solo show.

He added: “Andy is a great guy. He lives down the road from me and we’ve played on the electric drum pads in my house when drunk but never seriously.

“I only found out two days ago I could do the gig. We only rehearsed for a few hours the day before.”
