Muse have been offered the chance to take over the running of their hometown of Teignmouth for a day.

The trio, who are all from Teignmouth, have been offered the chance by the local council to take over the reins for a day after they ran with the Olympic torch in the town earlier this year.

Speaking in a video, which you can see at the bottom of the page, Jeremy Christophers, who is leader of Teignbridge District Council, says that he has extended an open invitation to Matt Bellamy and co to come back and take over the town.

Speaking on the day Muse ran with the torch, Christophers said: "We had Muse here today. They're the biggest rock band on the planet. I've invited Matt Bellamy and the band to come in and run the council for the day."

Bellamy also spoke himself, saying: "We'd like to play down here as much as we can. I bet you, 10 years to the day, we'll be back here."

Muse will release their new album 'The 2nd Law' on September 17. The album contains a total of 13 tracks and includes the band's recent single 'Survival'.

The Devon trio will tour the UK in October, playing five shows. The gigs begin at Glasgow's SECC on October 24, before the band move onto London's O2 Arena for two shows on October 26 and 27. They then play Birmingham LG Arena on October 30 before finishing up at Manchester Arena on November 1.
