Muse have promised to go back to basics when they perform at the Royal Albert Hall next month.

The band, who are known for their use of special effects on tour, have agreed to perform at a Teenage Cancer Trust gig on April 12.

"The Albert Hall gig will be very minimal. We won't be spending money on special effects," frontman Matt Bellamy told the Daily Star. "It will just be us and our instruments - totally stripped back.

"We played a couple of gigs like that in New Zealand and Eastern Europe because we couldn't get our production out there and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was different but it felt good."

Muse received the Best Live Act prize at the NME Awards on Thursday night.
Muselive.com will be giving away 5 pairs of extra special tickets to the gig. Stay tuned
