I seriously just about crapped my pants right now. I cannot believe your ability. I now hate my artwork. That's bewilderingly good; all of them are. Do you use oil? Acrylic? Mixed medium?
I can't get over it. I'm a failure with a paintbrush. Completely incompetent. It's humiliating. I not only would sell my soul to paint as you do, but to be able to work with colour like you can.
I'm going to cry my talentless ass to sleep now, ahahahaha.

^ you're not alone. i felt like giving up painting when i saw corgi's stuff.. all of a sudden my so called artwork looks like a pile of crap i spent endless hours on. 
oh, and i have the same question. what was the medium used for that thom one?? looks like oils?
There are two colours in my head.

So I would love to do a pastel of Matt, but I don't know what picture to do. Any ideas? and some fairly basic pictures would be great, I really am not that great

Thanks I might develop one or more of them into a bigger drawing or painting, but I was mostly just practicing drawing faces.

No! Don't feel like that!  Post some of your stuff!! Thom was done in oil, the best medium ever 
And for Scottatura, here's an updated Janove :
Just photoshopped in the mic stand so I can use it as a reference

^Wow. Katie, that really is brilliant. I love the shirt. The folds look very realistic!
But then again, all of your artwork is brilliant. It makes me want to start drawing again, but at the same time, it makes me want to give it up forever.

how long have you been working with oils, if you don't mind me asking? I want to work with oils but it's so hard.. when I first tried, all the paints turned to this pile of brown mud, but I probably just don't know how to properly use the medium. This is the first and the only painting I've done so far in oils:

It's strange, I know  ...long story short, I was inspired by a gallery of war portriats from 1812 that I saw in St. Petersburg. And if you look closely, you can see that one of the medals is actually a bear

I think I am going to stick to black and white and charcoal. I have no hope in hell of ever creating something like that.
I don't paint a lot as is, but I think it's probably a good idea to leave it alone, now that I've seen what I can't do, hahaha.
