heylo i was just wondering wot all u peeps make of Radiohead? when i first looked up muse on t'internet, i read that thye sound a lot like Radiohead, which i thought was a load of crap at the time, but now i have listened to Ok Computer and The Bends, i do believe this is true! although i would have to say that Muse are more up-tempo and rocky, Thom Yorke and Matt do sound sorta similar. they are also both, ahem, weird looking, although i think this is a huge bonus and makes them even cooler! they wouldnt be the same if they looked like peter andre or some other idiot. soooooooo anyway, back to my point - wot do u lot think??

Radiohead are my favourite band. Seriously. I've seen them live and was reduced to tears.

I can see the similaralities, but I have to prefer Radiohead.

Peace.

I find that Showbiz is similar to some Radiohead stuff, but someone on Amazon (I think it was) said that he saw Muse as the direction that RH would have headed off in if they hadn't gone weird with Kid A. Kind of like Radiohead in a parallel universe. Meh.

Both are fantastic bands, in my opinion. I don't quite see the need for comparison. But RH are amazing live. Listen to Exit Music or No Surprises live. They are incredibly intense & CAN reduce you to tears.

I prefer muse but radiohead are a great band. They toured Australia at the start of the year but i couldn't go. Won't be making that mistake with muse though.

I have Radiohead's "All Hail to the Thief"... and based on that, I don't really think they sound that similar.

I really like radiohead, but Muse has Way More Ballz.
There voices are similar but Matts is way stronger and he has more range, or something like that?.

I do find Showbiz similar to earlier Radiohead stuff - it's mainly the voice - but from OoS onwards Muse have really left any kind of comparison dead in the water; the two bands have spun off in completely opposite directions.

my favorite band happens to be radiohead but it was because of radiohead (going to coachella) that i discovered muse and have come to love them! i belong to a couple of radiohead message boards and this same topic is tossed around there...

personally, i don't find the two similar...some say that muse is a knock off (just because matt and thom both sing in a falsetto? please) obviously, i don't agree with the comparisions and i refuse to say one is better than the other cause i don't think bands should be compared like that...i know i just like them better as a personal preference

there are different qualities to the two groups

but if you have never checked out rh then i would suggest starting with ok computer (my fave) and giving them a try

I have recently bought several Radiohead albums in order to investigate the similarities (being a recent Muse convert and knowing nothing of Radiohead. ) Apart from their uniqueness, I really can't see much of a similarity.

Yeah, I don't think they're similar at all.

I keep hearing that Matt Bellamy sounds like Thome York.

No he doesn't!

Both bands are really good, though.

Thread ressurection!

I was thinking about making a new Radiohead thread but this one will do ;D. Muse and Radiohead do sound really similar. There's only really two songs that stick out in my mind as being really similar... Citizen Erased and Radiohead's Paranoid Android. I'm not sure if it's just because they have similar song structure or what but when I hear one I always think of the other.

Anyways yah, Radiohead are the best band of the last 5-10 years (IMO of course ;D). Even though Hail To The Thief wasn't really up to standard, the rest of it is sheer brilliance, with the exception of Pablo Honey which just seems like a mistake for some reason. What're your guys/girls favorite ablums?

What about Amnesiac .

Creep is on Pablo Honey (first album) and Fake Plastic Trees is on The Bends (second album). They're both the two Radiohead albums that are considered normal before they became more.. alternative? I don't know. If you liked Fake Plastic Trees try downloading Street Spirit and Bulletproof... I Wish I Was. They're both of The Bends and both reallyreally good.
