I really hope survival (the official song of the olympics...) will get the attention it deserves, I feel like they are going just to put it's performance between two random songs as if it wasn't important...

^Its the theme so I imagine a big deal will be made of it!
In saying that though I've not heard it at all in the Olympics without actively searching for the song on youtube (hearing it so few times though in some ways is a blessing :P)

From the sounds of it the album's a complete mix of stuff! But maybe it'll give some insight into how well they've done the more stripped down electronic songs. Maybe...

the only sure thing is that muselive will as always be split in:
the ones who LOVE the song
the ones who HATE the song and think that muse are dead (for the 3rd time) those will mainly be the ones that hated the resistance even if some of the ones who liked the resistance will be here too lol
the ones who don't care but don't post so we can not take them into account

You missed the ones who take the piss out of the ones who love it and the ones who complain about the complainers. And that list goes for .mu as well - actually, probably Musers the world over. We're whiny gits  .

I think for copyright reasons/anti-bootlegging measures radio stations are required to either have the DJ's talk over the start and the end of the tracks or put in a couple of radio station idents in the middle of the song when they are premiering tracks for the first time.

Here in Belgium I've heard it several times already. Our local sport channel "Sporza" uses Survival quite often to accompany video-footage. Quite similar to the official video but with main focus on Belgian athletes.

The bright side is this for me: I really didnt like the resistance... I liked Exogenesis 1 through 3 after I took LSD and listened to it. But apart from that, the bright side is that well... it can't be worse than resistance in my opinion. If Survival was on resistance, it would have been my favorite song. So that already tells me something. Even that trailer, dubsteb reminiscent or not.
Yes there is a reflection of that direction of music that has been taken by them it seems.. but hey, maybe a better execution of it. They really changed it up last album and a new style of music is not always perfect when tried for the first time.
Anyway I do have a good feeling about this album. I certainly dont expect anything I love as much as older stuff but I do have a better feeling than all that fun stuff on the last album.
I am very curious about these songs sung by Chris though as I am sure everyone is. So far what I have heard from reviews it doesnt seem like its going to be something amazing. The comparison of his voice to the Tool singer's doesn't really do it for me as I kind of really dislike his voice. But it is Chris and we have heard him sing as background vocals and I do not recall being repulsed in any way by it. Actually I was looking up some isolated recordings of Chris singing on youtube and found a good video with a variety of examples from songs and live shows where you can hear him sing alone. And I don't know if its because he's in Muse and is so used to singing with Matt and blending his vocals in with his, but he does sing a lot like him stylistically. So I am keeping my chin up because it sounded nice.

I think Survival is about as bad as anything on The Resistance. Maybe not as bad as Neutron Star Collision. But probably on the same level as Guiding Light.
It's only one song though.

I don't think The Resistance is bad at all (although it has a few poor songs on it) I just think it's Muse's worst album.

Yeah I get the feeling that rather than TR part two it's gonna be a better version of a lot of stuff they did on TR. I think they were onto something interesting with UD, and it seems like they've gone into that a bit more here. Plus I love Exogenesis and I think they've done the same with that style of music. And, as always, they've got some new things too.

it seems that the interview was moved to the 20th, I knew that it was just a mistake. Because madness was supposed to be released on the 14th before the delay of the album...
