Now that I think of it, the resistance reviews were out waaaay earlier! we had a description of USoE at least two weeks before it was released on the 20th of July (it said bohemian rhapsody + lawrance of arabia + chopin or something like that)

Its good that they will start rotation (me thinking maybe muscle museum, fingers crossed) but knowing my luck I will get the same songs each time I go. Saw them quite a few times last tour and I always got the same set, despite having a rotation on a couple of songs.

I don't think they can really rotate, they focus too much on the singles. It's weird since the songs are all written with the same effort. I don't know why they feel that they need to keep every single in the playlist!
the worst part is that it's affecting us as well, right now I think the best songs from absolution are hysteria, TIRO and SS even if I like as much sing for absolution, B&H (singles as well but not as important), endlessly, ruled by secrecy, apocalypse please, blackout ( I couldn't stop they are all perfect lol except TODA and TSP)
It's like they think that they owe the fans at least all the singles in each live, but they have never been single sellers. They are more album sellers so it doesn't matter

I agree about the focusing too much on singles. Do they really think that fans would rather hear one of their post-Showbiz singles (save for New Born or SS) over Ruled By Secrecy/Citizen Erased/Micro Cuts, etc.?
Unfortunately, a lot of bands focus too much on singles at concerts. At least it's not just Muse.

That's probably what it is, like the people who say they love Muse because of Uprising and NeutronStarCollision and have never even heard the non-single songs.

I think the new album sounds fun! Cant wait!
Chris Singing: YES
Supremecy (it Sounds as if it carries on from Exogenisis): YES
80's Guitar and Slap Bass: YES
DubStep Symphony: YES
This is typical Muse doing what they do best. EXPERIMENTING!!
Every artist/ Band wants to change the world of music, which Muse have. But now over a decade since their trade mark sounds were produce, every one is trying making it!
Now they are at the forfront of music and becoming one of the biggest bands in the world, they need to mold and adapt to keep their music noticed. Otherwise they blend into the back ground like Travis, The Verve, The Fray, Stereophonics. All great bands but not venturing anywhere new with their music.
I trust Muse as I have loved every album so far, and I have been a fan since Showbiz.
So all this chat of "Real Fans" is getting annoying. You shouldnt put someone down because they like something you dont.
Lets get excited about this album rather than have thread after thread of pessimistic views on it.

If only you knew where that originated...

Before people get all in a huff about Matt's descriptions of the songs, lets not forget he called Hoodoo a flamenco tex-mex inspired song. And then it turns out to be one of the best songs Muse has ever done.
And he said Thoughts of a Dying Atheist was about a guy coming home with blood all over his hands, when that just turned out to be one line of Ruled By Secrecy.
I just don't think we should take any of his descriptions seriously.

No "album preview" to be found on the link they posted yet. Interestingly though, I also can't find the official trailer on there either so maybe it's yet to be uploaded. Or NME's site is just terribly organised which is more likely.

Where actually did it come from, I always assumed it was from some sort of CE based argument =P

Reading that interview got me VERY excited for this album. I'm so excited to see what Chris' songs will sound like, and I can't wait for this album.

Having Chris sing a couple of the tracks will definitely add a whole new dimension to their sound. One of Muse's most dominant characteristics is Bellamy's vocals. Cant wait! you reckon we will get 30 second previews from iTunes soon?

Where's the f*cking preview NME promised us?! I'm dying here.

Muse know very well how to keep us very exited the previous months of each CD release date.
Damm! I can't wait!!!!

NME never promised a preview, some people just misunderstood what was written in NME and decided to spread around that NME was going to publish a video with song previews today. I have no idea why.

So the "album preview" they mentioned is actually that trailer Muse released weeks ago?

I think that's the case, yeah. Just people misreading things.

For those reading a lot into the comments, remember that this is that heady combination of Muse and the NME. Both have been known to bullshit, although admittedly one usually bullshits for a laugh and the other does it to...sell magazines?
As for the actual content, it's pleasing. Setlist rotation is always good, but like some have said, I'll wait to see what actually comes of it. At least they're talking about it, which is a step in the right direction, but they have done that before, and not always with great results.
The bit that most intrigues me is Liquid State. 1) it's supposed to be sung by Chris, which is great, but 2) the subject matter. It's a long time since Muse (Matt) have written a song that is pointedly about a certain subject in the way that this one claims to be. It's always "It's about religion"/"It's about Space"/"It's about genetically engineering puppies to stay like that forever". I'm very interested to see how it turns out - I'm really hoping that for such serious subject matter, on a subject that is clearly something pretty raw between them over the past few years, that they don't screw it up.

Matt himself said it to the crowd at the second night of Wembley in 2010, comparing them to the crowd from the first night.

Chris singing lead sounds fantastic particularly after his great vocals in Hyper Music at R+L
Also more setlist rotation
