Resistance sucks. But the 30 second preview made it sound even worse. Most of the 30 second previews made the songs sound terrible actually. Some still were. But most were better.

Resistance (song) is great, especially 1984 song meaning

No. And it still reminds me of Grease everytime I hear it.
Tell me more, tell me more, like does he have a car?

The Resistance wasn't a great era, I find it strange how a band can go from producing such amazing songs as Citizen Erased, Space Dementia, Sunburn and Stockholm Syndrome to producing garbage such as Guiding Light, Neutron Star Collision and I belong to you.

I shouldn´t see this
... and Joe, me too
how can they decline from their amazing music so much ?

I'm just gonna throw this out there...
What are the chances of them playing with a string/brass section on this tour? I can't really imagine (the track currently known as) supremacy without one, and it would account for the insane ticket prices.
Ok, not very likely maybe, but perhaps at least one full concert with strings and brass this year finally?

Resistance is one of my favourite Muse songs

Resistance is great. Worst thing it has: the lyrics.

Not many chances, I think. It would be great 'cause it could be, also, the right time to listen Exo 2&3 live.

neutron star collision is not in the album, it has nothing to do with the resistance (if we're counting bsides, I can say wow OOS era really sucked it had I don't know futurism (I know that some like it) or jimmy kane and conscience.
I belong to you is really a good song (maybe the french part isn't top), it sounds a lot like cave. I really like it.
Guiding light is the only mistake of the album.
I really don't understand all the hate for the resistance:
resistance, UD, USoE, MK ultra, exogenesis and IBtY were all really good songs.

I said 'Resistance Era', covering all released songs around the time of the Resistance. I didn't say it sucked because of merely those 3 songs, I was using them as examples of how the quality of Muse's material had deteriorated over the years. I was saying it was a disappointing time because I personally disliked more songs than I liked, seeing a band go from writing such good songs to mediocre songs is extremely frustrating.

I actually like it. Both parts of the trailer.
I don't like dubstep, but the strings are good, what the fuck with all those haters????
There are only 30 seconds, and I prefer that than Supermassive Black Hole or Uprising.
It's the best preview of an incoming muse album since Absolution. Nobody here (or anyywhere) really like SBH or USoe when they revealed those poppy songs in 2006 and 2009.
At this early point, The 2nd Law is much better than The Resistance, but we'll see...

That's something I hadn't originally considered. It COULD be one of the seasons why ticket prices are higher, but I can't see it happening. Would some arenas be able to fit an orchestra + Muse + show and still pack in a decent number of standing tickets? Would it be possible in the O2 for example? I remember the stage was a lot smaller there than in Glasgow, and they have a smaller standing area.

Here is my reaction after listening to USoE
- first part: OMG the piano is back and I looove matt's voice (I was affraid we would have another smbh)
- second part: OOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMG is that queen ? (I like it but people will complain lol)
- third part (the strings sequence) :'( this is soooo everything I wanted muse to be after absolution, but there was blackholes and I lost faith but HERE IT IS
- fourth part: mmmm it's kind of repetitive lol
SO NO there are people here that liked USoE, it's only negative aspect is the resemblence with queen, and it's not because it doesn't work, it's because people tend to see that and forget that the song is AWESOME

I think it's a hilarious song. Songs shouldn't make you cry with laughter, that's all I know.
It's not a fact it's awesome or hilarious -- music is entirely subjective in most aspects, obviously. It's quite pointless to discuss it in any other way. "IT IS awesome" should usually be "I THINK it is awesome". Fair enough!
The piano is frickin' badass, though. . . :P

If the 'Unsustainable' lyrics are in the actual song. Chris will probably sing them (SMBH style) and we'll lose out on the pouty lips/ head bang during the breakdown
|

The guitar at the end is starting to remind me of Recess and I really dig how the strings turn into a synth. Also It really sounds like when it ends the dubsteppy part is about to change into something else. And as for the robot voice, we've already had that with SMBH nbd

There's a robot voice in SMBH? Where?

End of the chorus, also the video on stage during that song was full of giant marching robots for a while

Dom's "into the supermassive" at the end of the prechorus.

Ah yes,
dun-dun-dun-dm-dm-WAH-WAH
in to the su per ma ssive
Never noticed that was a sentence until running the song in practice mode (Guitar Hero 3).
Still, that's nowhere as ob/intrusive -- pretty incomparable.

Even's Chris' backing vocal tracks have that raspy robotic distortion on SMBH
|
|
|
Robotic distortion? Nah, just sounds like a Chino Moreno effect to me. Different ears I guess.
