I hope for something that sounds like Civilisation by Justice as the lead single

You people are ridiculous. Now even "fat beats" starts shitstorm. That could mean anything - there is no pure definition for "fat beats", so again... it's all just speculation.
I agree, everyone is ridiculous. Seems most people who fear that 'fat beats = dubstep' are just kids who don't seem to know what fat beats really are. I don't believe he said 'wobbly beats'. Osaka Jam has a fat beat, Fury has a fat beat, Hysteria has a fat beat, RATM made some very fat beats. The fact that the words fat beat is getting associated with dubstep kinda makes me feel like
In all honestly I think this is what all the bitchers have been bitching that they want to hear (more riffage like OOS but a different take on it) and people are STILL bitching. I just hope people don't start committing suicide over speculated rumours before they're able to actually give the album a listen.

I hope it sounds like latter day NIN. With Teeth had some FAT beats mixed with heavy riffs, and the awesome Year Zero has glitchy beats in abundance although not much guitar.

I hope it sounds like things I haven't heard before.
why ask for it to sound like something else, when we all know the result will be people saying they ripped off another artist. Such as Queen with The Resistance.
I hope they produce something different, not shit different, but mind blowing different.

Can't really make an opinion on the music as I've not heard it!
Can't believe people want it to sound like that crap Justice group.
Not looking forward to it if it's really poppy dubstep (or really any dubstep at all) or just overly produced crap.
Who knows?! we haven't heard anything bad about it yet.
This basically sums up my thoughts on it....but as he says...Who knows!!!

I've been saying this for ages!
The only thing I didn't like about that NIN era was Jeordie White's mug.

Not even looking into the whole fat beats side, 'cos that could mean anything, but I hear 'Muse' and 'riffs' in the same sentence and I'm happy.. just makes me think New Born and Stockholm.
Very much looking forward to the first snippets we hear - when did we get the USoE trail in 09?

It's probably going to be very different now but this is how it was in 2009:
Tracklisting was announced on 3rd July
Treasure hunt announced on 4th July, started on 14th July, finished on the 21st
Uprising first played on 3rd August
The Resistance available for pre-order on 10th August
30 second TR clips available on 18th August
And while scrolling through these 2009 tweets I'm almost getting excited about The Resistance again. If they tweet half as much during the promotion of this album as they did in 2009 I will be very happy.

It's gonna be a hip-hop/rap/dubstep album. Forget about any progressive rock.

While you're obviously trollin', I do think I agree with the second sentence. Forget about any progressive rock. Whenever the new album comes around everyone gets so excited. You hear things like "I hope it sounds like Justice" or "It's going to be like Dark Side of the Moon... in space!".
I'd be a little more conservative with my expectations. I'm calling it now. It's not going to be much different to The Resistance. Pop/rock by numbers, a couple of heavy tunes, one or two awful, cheesy tunes, and a few oddball "wacky" songs thrown in to remind everyone how kerraazzeeee they are.
I would genuinely rather I was wrong on this and they actually did something new and exciting, if only for you lot who are getting all excited about it. But I wouldn't bet my bollocks on it.

I'll bet, then, 'cos I'm feeling positive for some terrifying reason. . .
I bet my love-spuds it's way better than The Resistance, heavier than BHaR and TR put together, and far less poppy than most are expecting it to be. OOH, RISKY!
Well, I just had an aneurysm -- my brain wasn't ready for that level of optimism.
If I'm wrong, then I expect I'll part ways (mentally) with Muse, like lovers might after the magic's gone, rather than a messy divorce. Still . . . I have a feelin', and it ain't acid reflux like last time.

Nobody needs a messy divorce. Too many hoops. And as if you want to lose half your house. Far better to just make good your escape in the night to a non-extradition country and live out the remainder of your days on a beach sipping cocktails out of halved coconuts.
