So Muse hit the nail on the head with Exogenesis. If we keep on with our current consumption rates we'll need to colonise 2 planets of equal spec to earth to continue to live.

Of course they are going to say we're all going to die and we need to give money to the WWF to stop Earth from dying. I'm not saying they're completely wrong, but look at this report and the article very critically. 2050 seems a bit too much of a pessimistic guess to me.
But on the other hand, they may have to exaggerate to make countries/politicians/governments act. Canada stepped out of Kyoto yesterday, that's not a good sign, but the US en China never even signed it, that's worse.
