This is absolute fucking bullshit

He does NOT deserve to be jailed. This is the ultimate example of a media scapegoat. One man died and now they're ruining another man's life because of it. Absolute bullshit. I sometimes hate mankind.

I dunno. It does seem a little sketchy.

Like most things involving trials though, we'll never really know one way or the other, and we lack the knowledge (so far as I'm aware) to make a confident judgment.

Frankly I don't care massively. I hope there hasn't been a miscarriage of justice, but as James said, we lack the knowledge to draw informed conclusions.

It's the ultimate example of using a scapegoat because they need someone to blame for the death of an icon.

I was going to say this exact thing. You're just being the typical outraged man in the street who makes their judgement of the case based on what they've seen in the papers and then treating your own opinion as absolute unimpeachable fact. Sometimes I hate mankind.

You clearly have no concept of how the justice system works in Western society. I don't have all the facts that the jury had, and neither do you, so exactly how you are in a better position to decide if the doctor was guilty or not than the jury, I don't know. Pray tell.

This is why healthcare in America costs so much. We can sue the shit out of any doctor, even if they where just trying to help. Therefore medical insurance for doctors and healthcare drug companies is insanely high which equals higher prices for us.

Because all you're saying is 'he was innocent' without a shred of evidence. You've been asked how you could know such a thing, but your reply hasn't changed. Fact is, he could have caused Jackson's death, and he quite easily on the other hand have been innocent. We probably wont ever know the exact details, but you can't just say they were looking for a scapegoat for his death when you don't know the details. All we can hope is that this man isn't going to unjustly spend the next 2-5 years of his life behind bars.

I have absolutely no clue of details and evidence, but I think it's a bit harsh for 4 years. His medical license atleast. Obviously if it was on purpose, then he deserves the punishment, but a quick read doesn't tell me he's a killer.

Was a bit fishy him delaying to call an ambulance because he was disposing of the drugs in the room but we'll never know the full details so can't really make a comment on it.

As much as somebody probably would of wanted to down that kiddy fiddler I would of doubted he did it on purpose, hence the manslaughter conviction.
Fair enough the way I see it, just becuse you didn't mean to kill someone doesn't mean that you didn't.

This guy knows.

From the sounds of it, the prescription he gave was medically dangerous and led to Jacksons death. But doctors make mistakes a lot - if every doctor who's slight bad judgement led to someones death was convicted of manslaughter, there probably wouldn't be any lasting more than a year or so before jail. Did he accidentally kill someone? Probably. Was it a given risk with his job and would he be getting jailed if it wasn't for the person dying being an icon? Probably not...

Jackson hadn't really looked "alive" in a traditional sense for a good while.

He was not found guilty of manslaughter, he was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Legally, it is a difference!

I am in no position to say if this is the correct call, but from what I've seen, it looks to be as if Dr. Murray is at fault, although to say he is solely the cause may not be true.

Also, the Associated Press currently reports "Michael Jackson's doctor was convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death for supplying an insomnia-plagued Jackson with a powerful operating-room anesthetic to help him sleep as he rehearsed for his big comeback."

He apparently used Propofol.

/Coincidentally, this is how you back something up with evidence.

his "job" was giving MJ a dangerous drug that is in no way ment to be given outside a hospital setting, there wasnt much proper equipment, and as a doctor (talking about him, im not a doctor) it boggles my mind as to why he would even consider this. Sure even if MJ did ask for it, why did this doctor go ahead and give him the propaval. He shouldve called the police or let someone know about this problem, but no instead he decides to give him the drug anyways. guilty.

this would be a whole different story if this doctor gave MJ the propofol in a hospital setting and like MJ had a bad reaction to it. Then i say hes not guilty and he could'nt have predicted that.

But this was being done at MJ's home in his bedroom outside a hospital setting.

just based on that alone hes guilty. its a no brainer. and remember he didnt commit manslaughter, he committed involuntary manslaughter, both are completely different from eachother.

You have no concept of common sense.

Same thing happens every time one of these cases rolls around. You get a few people adamant that they're innocent, you get a few people adamant that they're guilty, and then you get the sensible people in the middle that accept they don't know. We don't know. We simply don't know. And you certainly don't know.

We don't have all the details. And we weren't there on the night it happened. All we can do is form a little bit of an opinion based on the evidence we hear.

He could have been doing a bad job. He could have been negligent. He could have been knocking him out with drugs so he could take pictures of himself hugging Michael and making it look like they were in love. Or he could have been a good doctor that has been made a scapegoat.

You don't know. And to state with certainty that you do is cartoon level ignorance.

Personally, from the evidence I heard, I thought his actions seemed a little irresponsible. And when you're entrusted with a persons life, irresponsible is bad.
