One side of me wants to congratulate them with their new born, but on the other hand it's a pity because now Matt has to focus on his child in stead of new music.

A lot of musicians have kids, I'm sure Matt is capable of focusing on more than one thing. Especially when the baby is going to live in London anyway when they start working on the new album.

I really hope that the name is not ridiculous... poor little bugger if it is!! I mean Victoria and David Beckham are nuts naming their daughter Harper Seven Beckham? WTF?

Apparently the baby weighed 7lbs 12oz according to here: Clicky

I can't wait to see what the baby looks like

I think "weird" names can be good if the child grows up with a very strong sense of individuality and a lot of confidence. I understand why most parents would want to call their children something more ordinary, as they think it's their responsibility to minimise the chances of playground bullying etc. But there's something a little tragic about that. Maybe it's not always such a bad thing if a child has to develop a thick-skin early on ! Too many children these days are spineless and eager to please. I know people with unusual names who hated them when they were children, but really like them now they're adults.

It's difficult. I associate most ordinary names with other people I know, and definitely wouldn't want to be reminded of old school peers every time I looked at my child. And there's also a childish part of me that's always been a bit disappointed when I've come across other people with my name (uncommon but not rare - you might get two or three in a school at most). But those are pretty selfish reasons to call a child something whacky. I think it depends a bit on your surname as well and how the whole thing reads. Plus, names like Apple and Peaches are pretty horrible.

But it's a business thing too though, isn't it? Celebs thinking about a brand name that their children can use, pre-empting their success almost.

Since they aren't married, is the baby's last name still Bellamy? Or would it be Hudson?

They can always choose, I guess. But I don't think Kate feels very strongly about her own last name so I don't see why they would call it that? And Ryder didn't get her name either.

And I decided that this kid's name should start with an R. Because it would be funny.

Congratulations proud parents! And well done Kate on the FORCED OUT NEW BORN
Her other kid has a pretty normal name I think, so unless Matt loses the plot, it shouldn't get too ridiculous

Big congrats, just hoping the lullabies and nursery rhymes stay in the nursery and off the new album.

I bet the boy has quite a scream on him already, with Matt as Daddy
