I'm looking forward to multiplayer BF3. But to be fair I think the announcement of GTA5 has made me more excited than either COD or BF could ever make me.

I know what you mean. As much as I'm going to get Battlefield 3, I'm not quite as erect for it as a lot of people seem to be. There's so many other games that I'm so much more interested in. Uncharted 3 mainly, and the news about Grand Theft Auto V has got me rather thrilled for that.

God yeah, Uncharted 3 looks fantastic. I'm actually considering getting a PS3 again just for that! The surprise news of GTA V though has left me with rigamortis in my pants. I honestly think BF3 will be the best online multiplayer (shooter) this year though.

one annoying thing about BF3 ive seen in vids is the respawning. people seem to be killed on respawns alot.

you shouldn't re spawn on your squad unless they pretty safe. I never respond on my squadmate under fire. You spawn right before hey get into the fight, not right in the fight. Or else you don't even have time to figure out whats happening before you are getting shot.

I didn't before, but now I actually think Modern Warfare 3 might get better reviews than Battlefield 3. Battlefield is a bit... not boring, but like... for all the hype, for all the fanboys building it up and saying how amazing it was before they'd even played it, it's just another shooter. It doesn't revolutionise the genre. It's a second rate Modern Warfare campaign. The online is great but doesn't really go in any new directions or anything. It's just more of the same which is kinda disappointing. Modern Warfare will be more of the same aswell, almost certainly, but the campaign will probably be better, and the online is different so it's more difficult to compare. Both COD and Battlefield have their multiplayer pros and cons.

I've decided on MW3, I won't get it till the new year probably, I see no logic in buying it when Skyrim comes out three days later. I might get Battlefield 3 but MW3 first.
It's pretty annoying when my decision on MW3 depended on how well I am doing on MW2 and Black Ops. I play well = buy, I play bad = no buy.

I really like it a lot but this bashing and hype is a little over ridiculous, since it's nonstop for about 6 months now. It's a very good game with a decent campaign, and fantastic multiplayer with a few flaws which are all being patched out anyway in the next few months.

IGN has been slow with their review releases. They are probably trying to get more complete play throughs of the game before they publish the review. Oddly though, their reviews do not seem longer....

One thing I've noticed is the player reviews of each game. After having equal time with both game and taking a little time to get rid of my bias towards the latest outings of COD I've found them both to have their flaws:
MW3 seems to be getting slated by a fair few of the fan base. Some even saying they preferred black ops over it. I've played both games now and they're both different levels of mediocrity. Cods online mode with the spawn system is actually worse than the previous in the series. No recoil in guns, and a lot of the fun has gone out of firefights in game.
The redeeming feature of the game though is the spec ops mode and survival. It's a lot of fun and has real replay value.
BF3 campaign wise is just out and out boring. There's nothing that makes me want to replay it. Online it's great, it has many flaws but it's just different enough from the previous outing that it makes up for the issues of the game.
Both games will in my opinion never live up to the hype. Both of which I rate at 6.5/7 out of 10.
