oh dear. Donald Trump takes credit. I don't have his exact quote. But I'll translate back what the Danish newspaper says he's said:
"I'm really honored to have had such a big role in settling the matter, so we can focus on other things."

What a twat. He brings up and causes a fake problem, and solved it. That's like laughing at your own joke.

Again, it's so easy to see how stupid it is, and how you would have to be plain dumb to miss that. I just know that there are people though that will miss that and fall for it...

You have to be born on American soil, tchocky is wrong. McCain was born on a US Naval base in Panama, which is technically considered US soil (It could be debated). If he was born outside of it, he wouldn't be eligible to run.

Yeah I was wrong about the parent's nationalities. Sorry.

But US military bases sit on what amounts legally to US soil. Whatever country they happen to be in. It's in the lease.

The US promptly lost its shit and declared war on the very notion of terrorism, entering into an armed conflict against an abstract concept like only America can.

Oh god. This has gotta stop. Now Donald Trump starts questioning Barack Obama's university degrees.
"How did he get into Harvard if he wasn't a good student?"
...
And the quote I translated back from Danish before was in fact:
"Today I am very proud of myself. Because I have accomplished something nobody else has been able to accomplish."
... Oh wow. You got the president to release his birth certificate and prove you wrong. What an accomplishment

Yeah for legal purposes, military bases count as home territory, subject to all the laws of the home country regardless of where they are in the world. Like embassies.

I saw this earlier. I'm not sure whether to laugh or just be angry. It is so cringe-worthy.

The accusations are just plain racist. The only way that Obama should be able to be brought down, is by Republicans presenting a candidate who promises to do a better job that Obama. By resorting to arguing about his race as the best method, it shows that Republicans have no idea what the hell they are doing.

Well.. He's only a bit more than half way through his term.
Election is next year. And the winner's term only starts in the beginning of 2013.

But hey. Obama just won the election. He's in 'till 2017. Happy days!

Anyone watching the Republican Presidential debate? Their proposed policies are rather scary.

Tim Pawlenty is a borderline fascist. Saying the US doesn't need UN approval, or approval from anyone, in foreign affairs.

Ron Paul suggesting that the US remove all foreign aid.

Rick Santorum refusing to compromise on any social issues because it's "what America is about." Fucking idiot.

I'll watch it tomorrow. Republicans are twats really. Though I find the whole 'Santorum' saga quite funny. I haven't heard about him in a while!

Since this, I have never been able to take him seriously, and the very image of him being president... I just can't...

Quote
san-TOR-um n. A frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex. See also: Sen. Rick Santorum (R - PA).

In April 2003, Republican senator Rick Santorum made some asinine comments in defense of laws banning gay sex. While this in itself may seem unremarkable, many people were amazed at how much detail he went into. Rick wasn't satisfied to call it 'degenerate' and move on. He really, really wanted to talk about sex, so he told the Associated Press: "If the Supreme Court says that you have a right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything." Well, little did he know that two months later the Supreme Court would rule anti-sodomy laws unconstitutional... whoops!

It's not every day that a U.S. Senator squirts out a nugget like that. Public outcry was considerable, yet readers of Dan Savage's syndicated sex column Savage Love feared the ensuing scandal would soon be flushed away and forgotten. Acting on the suggestion of a reader, Savage issued this challenge:

There's no better way to memorialize the Santorum scandal than by attaching his name to a sex act that would make his big, white teeth fall out of his big, empty head. And don't doubt for a moment that Savage Love readers have that power. Savage Love readers selected "pegging" for a woman doing a man in the ass with a strap-on dildo—much to my Aunt Peggy's dismay—and "pegging" is already showing up in dictionaries of sexual slang. So, readers: Should a "Santorum" be a common or a rare sex act? Vanilla or kinky? Sweet or gruesome?
Submissions were published in a later column, readers voted, and the lube-fecal matter concoction entry won by a landslide:

While I agree with the spirit of naming something objectionable (to him) after Rick Santorum, I think it should be a substance, not an act. I would never want to Santorum anyone I liked. What a turnoff. Instead, I think it would be better to name some kind of sexual byproduct after him. After all, ending up with idiots like Santorum in elected office is a byproduct of the otherwise desirable practice of letting any old yokel vote. Specifically, I nominate the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex. As in, "We had a great time, but we got Santorum all over the sheets." Or better yet, "Before I sodomize my gay, unmarried dog, I like to give him an enema so there won't be any Santorum."
—Wipe Up That Santorum, Anal Pokers

Since then, efforts to promote use of the word have had considerable success.

It is as if nothing happened lol

This presidential field is extremely disappointing. John Huntsman is the only reasonable Republican candidate, but he isn't crazy enough to win the nomination. Obama is just , I really wish someone would primary him like Ted Kennedy primaried Carter in 1980. Obama seriously needs to grow a pair of balls.

There truly needs to be some sort of discussion on campaign finance reform in Washington. The estimates of how much money is going to be spent by the campaigns and third parties on this election is somewhere between $3-5 billion. It is so far out of hand and people don't realize that campaign finance reform would fix so many problems in this nation.
