Be careful with jailbreaking, cause i know you recently got the 4s. if you do it, it voids your warranty. just a fyi.
Yeah I know... Warranty covers fuck all though anyway. In most cases, if your phone breaks, warranty doesn't cover it...

can you put your own music for the alarm on ios5 or can you only use the shitty sounds apple wants you to use?
You can easily make your own custom ringtones and assign them as alarms I've been doing it for ages.
How To
I'd also like to add this update is the tits.
you can add your own tones for your alarm and ringtone and etc. that link is a really long way to do it. just download the free app called "Ringtone Maker" by Zentertain Ltd.
and also to get some random tones and sounds check out phonezoo, theres instructions on how to install tones on the iphone, really simple.
@toe: Yeah thats true, how long is it/what is the warranty? i ought take a look at that cause i have no idea. I diffenetly insured my phone though, i mean you have to if you have an iphone, if it got messed up and i want to replace it, without insurance it will cost me like $500 for a new iphone. i think $10 a month for insurance is pretty cheap actually.

They would've charged me 18 bucks a month for insurance.. So I decided to not go with it, and buy a cover.. If I don't break it in the first year, I can terminate my contract (and get a new phone) cheaper than the fee on the insurance would've cost me. I'm pretty sure here (in Australia) the warranty is only 1 year. I know in Denmark law requires you to give 2 years of warranty. So I guess it depends on the country. My guess is 1 year for the US, but you should check up on that.

^ 18 bucks a month? okay now thats alot to add on to your bill. and you can terminate your contract for that cheap?
lucky, because at least here once you sign a contract then your stuck in it, you can terminate it, but the cost outweighs the whole thing. i think it would cost me like $300 to terminate early. Im with AT&T, other carriers might be different.

After a full year, the termination fee isn't too bad. I think it's like $250. And I think you might be able to get it cheaper if you re-sign with the same telco. Where 24 months of insurance would be $432. Bear in mind that it's insurance for the 64 GB 4S.

i wish i had a 64GB iphone, mines only 8GB -.-
but i had no choice since the 8GB iphone 4 is the one thats $99
you think i could get a higher storage iphone 4 say in like a couple months? i wonder if that would be allowed. its not really a upgrade persay so maybe i might be able to do it without effecting my plan.

I doubt it. Pretty sure any iPhone 4 over 8GB is out of production. So they're just selling out their last stock.
I had a 16GB 3GS before. It was completely filled with music. So I decided to got with the 64GB to make sure it would be enough on the long run. I've currently got 21GB of music and about 6GB of apps (mainly games). With the whole formatting and stuff, that still effectively leaves about 30GB. And if I ever fill that I'm sure I can delete some of the games or cut back a bit on the music.

i think they still have over 8GB for the iphone 4, its just that the $100 is the 8GB. i dont understand why not just keep it at 16GB for $100 and if you want more storage then you buy a more expensive model.

The iPhone 4 is only available in 8GB. There's no point in having a 16GB iPhone 4 and 4S on the market at the same time.

yeah there is a point. maybe i dont want a iphone 4s but would rather get the iphone 4 and a 16GB version. since theres not much difference between the 4 and the 4s. I'll just wait for the 5 and have the 4 in the meantime

Except there is a huge performance difference between the 4 and the 4S. Not to mention the quantum leap in camera quality. There's no point in making a 16GB iPhone 4. The price difference between the a 16Gb 4 and 4S would be too small, and everyone would just go for the 4S.
This is common practice for Apple. They don't want overlapping products because it just makes it more confusing everyone.

well now that you put it that way, i guess your right because a 16GB iphone 4 would probably be the same price as the 16GB iphone 4s.
only difference is better processor and game graphics, 1080p video and 8 megapixel camera, Siri. thats it

My iPhone has decided to stop letting me send text messages. I can still send them over iMessage, but if I try to send them normally, they just get that little error symbol and never send. Wat do.

it sounds like a carrier problem. I'd try turning it off and on again. If that doesn't work, then try taking out the sim and placing it in again.
Check your message settings as well. I think there is a setting for "use iMessage only" or something like that. Make sure all settings are set properly.
Otherwise contact your telco or something... dunno

basically all the hardware has been upgraded... "that's it". Pretty big difference imo.

but not enough to make me sign a new 2 year contract. i dont really take much photos and barely no video on my phone anyways, the processor and game graphics would help me for sure. ill stick with the 4 i recently got, so then next year ill be able to buy what will hopefully be the iphone 5
on a side note, i really hope for the iphone 5 they add something in the likes of Google Wallet. Where i can wave my phone across this thing to pay for whatever i bought.

its funny
when you dont need something you dont need it, but when you do need it, thats when you reallyyyyyyy need it.
im in a situation where i gotta record some video and stuff, im gonna do some video tests and filters with my iphone 4, but having that 1080p video compared to 720p wouldve been nice.
anywho i havent really noticed much of a difference with the new update. i did some things to reduce my battery consumption like disable the GPS on some apps i wouldnt even use the GPS location in the first place
and for the love of god i want flash on my iphone without having to jailbreak it. i understand apple has some gripe with adobe, but i mean, sometimes i start to wish i had a droid instead. at least i can view flash material on a droid.
on a similiar note, if anyone gets any word and finds how to untheatered jailbreak Ios5, please post here, i wanna jailbreak mine. but the Ios5 jailbreak thats out now is theatered.

^ Adobe killed off Flash for phones and tablets. There wasn't any need for Flash on iOS. Adobe Media Server converts Flash to HTML5 on the fly. So even if a site has a lot of Flash content, chances are it would still show up on an iPhone as HTML5.
