I'm guessing that this is being raised because of the recent spam attacks, but I can't see a way of that being implemented fairly.

I think it's possible if they post the same damn thing in every single forum section, especially if the message says, "Fook You" the entire time. Don't know how annoying that would be for Andrew though.

Well, can there be a way to stop repeated messages on more than 2 threads?

What about a cooldown? Say, once you've created a thread you can't create another one for x minutes.

It's simple, a lot of forums have a rule that you must have 20 posts before you can make a thread and post links or images.
Wouldn't stop multiple posts but at least it's not threads.

I only said 20 because that is on another forum I use, I think it's about right. And it should also include not being able to see the Advertising section.

I don't want to be inhibited in my posting. For the small minority which cause a problem, is it really worth limiting everyone else's use?
It depends what sort of time periods we're talking about though, if it's anything upward of 2 or 3 mins I'm against it.

Why? Is it really necessary to create more than 1 thread on something in the space of, for arguements sake, 5 minutes?

Sometimes.
It's far easier to just make it so you can't make threads and disable links for new members until they reach a certain post count.
The spammers only ever create an account just for one post or sometimes multiple posts.

The post count linked idea sounds much better to me. And it'll also encourage newbies to look for threads instead of joining and immediately making a thread for a question that has been asked a million times already.

I'd say 100. My only concern is that people start spamming so they can make a thread.
