Add PT Anderson in there.
And Steve McQueen, Ang Lee, and Terrance Malick are a few more.

Genuinely don't get why people like Von Trier. I think he sucks, in all seriousness.
Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson, David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky, Coen Brothers are some of my favourite directors.

What I was saying was to describe what he's been doing lately anyway. But still, you take the other movies and take the "different" things and what's left is extremely average in my opinion, but Nolan's fans seem to love it because they are happy they understood something 2deep4me (also called clever-clever) because it was ohmigosh. It annoys me because it could have been much better. Insomnia I've never seen, and wasn't well received anyway, so I don't see how it should be used as argument.
Also, the fact that you use a video game to compare narrative styles is pretty funny, and honestly should count as a negative point more than a positive.
Concluding, I actually kind of like Prestige, Memento was ok too. Inception and the Batman trilogy are good too, so you can take that sand out of your vaginas. But as I said, they could simply be much better than pure spectacles with twists and gimmicks. But that's obviously my opinion.
Surely, ANY film could be better, especially when its so subjective.

Obviously. I was just pointing out how Inception could have easily been a 5 star movie, if it could join the amazing visual and grandious scenes it had with a better narrative and exploration of the world they were in, in terms of story. But as I said, the focus was simply action, and Ellen Page was put in there to avoid people from losing themselves. But apparently people are content with the visual part of the movie and that's enough to keep Nolan from investing in the other aspects of the movie, aspects that I appreciate the most.

I guess Nolan has expressed interest indirecting a Bond film, and spoke of it again quite recently. That would be VERY interesting, I'd love to see it. His Howard Hughes film is also dead, which I think might be for the best, I don't know how well Nolan would do with a non-ficitonal film.

I'm afraid he'd ruin Bond if he directed a few... Not that he'd do a bad job. He'd do a great job and then afterwards the next ones would not be able to live up to expectations and the series would slowly die...
I think he should either do a franchise where he can do a trilogy or something similar to the Batman trilogy or do some original movies like Inception, Memento and The Prestige
