I read an interview with Dom for some drumming magazine where he said they tried to make The Resistance stripped down (from a production sound point i'm guessing) and it didn't work.
I just want good songs. NSC has grown on me but it's by no means great. I don't mind big epic songs, just without the cheese.
Personally, i'd like them to continue with where they were going on Exogenesis, not necessarily a symphony but been able to tell a story with a song and successfully switch between heavy and beautiful.

I can't say that I really enjoyed The Resistance. Somebody here already pointed out that The Resistance was too mixed. There was no theme in the album... just some poppy (and cheesy) songs with Exogenesis in the end.
As for the sixth album... I want something really deep... something similar to Rob Dougan (not going to happen though). I liked the Lyrical and musical theme of Absolution (Endlessly, FAWY, Blackout) and abit of Black Holes of revelations (specifically CoD, MOTP and Hoodoo). Of course, right next to the moody atmosphere I want fatass, badass riffs that I can listen to 'till my ears bleed.
Maybe it's no big deal, but I'd appreciate if the artwork was abit more like OoS... The Resistance artwork was just boring. OK, Uprising teddies were interesting, but apart from that, it was all boring same shape with different colors.

i hope it will have good riffs and lyrics,, but i dont want them to put EVERYthing down on the table.
i thought thats what they were doing with the resistance, and i was kind of dissapointed with it. exogenises was probably the most epic thing i had ever heard, but i think they toned down the album too much with UD and other things like it
i just hope they have enough material for albums 7-99

I hope it'll be like a mix of TR, Abso and OOS. That would be awesome! The orchestra and loads and loads of riffage!

I think it's safe to say it won't happen. It seems they much rather do something different.
I really can't imagine them doing something similar to their older styles anymore. As much as it would be cool to hear.

I wouldn't mind a more overall progressive rock approach. Ditch the pop songs entirely and go more PT/Sigur Ros!

The darkness of Showbiz, the hardness of OoS, the variety of Absolution, the lyrics of BH&R and the will of The Resistance
I think I would be happy with it. They have done everything except music nobody wants to hear (country, jazz). They should just look back and use their experience. They don't have to create something new. It isn't even possible I think.
