Alex, I don't know how you get some of those numbers.
14 songs?... Sure, might be right if you include all their supporting sets. But you really can't. In 2009, ALL headline shows had 16-18 songs (and that's not including Helsinki Jam, Nishe, Interlude and all other riffs). The shortest set were prolly their first one at Teignmouth and the two secret shows in Berlin and Paris which were 16 songs with one of them being Popcorn.
All the Muse shows I've attended on this tour (3 arena gigs, 1 festival gig and 2 stadium gigs) were all at least 100 minutes long. Seems pretty fair to me.
Would I like longer sets? Sure. I'd love it. Do I expect it? No. Will I be satisfied with paying ~£50 for a 100 minute show? Definitely.

Average setlist of 2009, 16 songs including Helsinki Jam. That's the average, meaning the setlists, more often than not were that. (I didn't include HJ because I don't consider it a song....because it isn't).
It's simple really, I got those numbers by adding the times of the songs together. Those songs being the ones on the average setlist. I'm not just complaining for the sake of it. It probably does comes to 100 minutes with all their riffs added in, plus encore breaks and interactions with the crowd, but song wise, it's not great. All I'm arguing is that they can't justify £50 for a short, predictable setlist.
So my question now, is why can't they play a standard 18 songs on their set at every gig? It just seems lazy to me, especially since they have 5 albums and countless B-Sides under their belt.
Take the pieces and build them skywards.

Quote AlexDalton123 :
Disregarding 2011 as they've been playing as a support band, it's still annoying that the average length has only increased by 2 songs, and as always, I could've predicted it.
Let's hope the next era is better eh?
My issue with this is that you argue you could've predicted it. Well of course you could've, it's the average set. How can any song ever be rare if it appears in the average gig?
If they play the whole of Origin twice in August, and say Hysteria only once, Screenager will be in that average setlist, and Hysteria won't be. It's not predictability, it's math.

Yeeaaahhh. That was awesome. Wonder if they'll throw in a rarer song over the next two gigs. Hope so!

No TIRO? Sorry I'm not really following.

No TIRO. It's a support set, anything outside of the single catalogue would be a surprise and unexpected. But that stream was a nice treat, I'm having major Muse live withdrawal symptoms at the moment.

Tiro and Resistance will probably get played tommorrow, if the other South American setlists are anything to go by Perhaps on the third night Citizen Erased will get another run out.

According to setlist.fm Matt played Collateral Damage as intro to USoE at the first night at Morumbi, that's not happening that often is it?
