Obama has completely lost his invincibility and golden president man status now. Not saying I hate him, but look how his overall support is starting to look like a lot of hype.

If the White House compromises with the republicans and take the Public-Option out then he loses my vote in 2012. I would much rather have a bill not pass congress and have the Public-Option in it than have a bill pass that doesn't. Obama has the majority in the house and the senate so i just don't see why they just don't hammer it through, but the democrats have to be pussies about it. Bush did it for 8 years and he had a smaller majority when he was president.

Bill Maher is great all the time, i saw him live and he was top notch. But if your not into politics your not really going to be into his show, it is 60 minutes of politics. But since it is on HBO there is swearing and there is some really heated discussions/arguments, and sometimes he has to throw people out of the audience.

i beg to differ. Yep timescales can be expected to be skew wiff, they always will be, but eventually it has to start happening somewhere, and slowly - its called the tip-toe advance.
If they suddenly announced on the news that all citizens will be mandatorily vaccinated there would be serious threat of exposure and revolt by the people, it gets filtered in gradually.
And it HAS started. 2 football and basketball games, where at the gate, the patron would be asked to be vaccinated or refused entry. the stats on this are somewhere in the region of around 405,000 bodies now 'mandatorily vaccinated'. Oh, and the other things i have previously said (to some ridicule) have all started happening and becomming fact. even down to mass grave sites and holding areas for corpses now in the british media, its not even a secret anymore. and i started this whole subject by saying way back when that the virus will 'mutate' and have a second strain apprently a lot more stronger and deadly than the first, forcing, in their words, government committees worldwide, to set up action plans for mass death due to the swine flu. and its happening. next thing to be made public, i think, will be announcing mandatory vaccinations more widespread, in companies, right down to public transport, and of course you should be pissing yourself with excitement abouit the pending MARTIAL LAW which Obama will hand over power of america under the recently rewritten caveats to the constitution that allows this to happen 'in these circumstances'

And mandatory vaccinations against swine flu? I don't know how things are in the U.K., but here in America you can refuse vaccinations. I think it would be more logical to fight against the regular flu since it kills over 10,000 people a year in the U.S.
I think Sen. Ted Kennedy's passing is going to be positive effect on the health care debate and I believe a Public Option will be passed now. Kennedy spent 47 years fighting for universal health care in the senate and it will be a sympathy vote. He was the 2nd most important American politician in the last 100 years behind FDR.

You won't lose anything if the public option passes. First it's an OPTION not mandatory.
Essentially what the public option is for, is to give those who are denied coverage by insurance companies because of pre-existing conditions a way to get good insurance coverage. Also because private companies are FOR PROFIT they benefit by denying medical claims to those they are supposed to ensure. The way the game works for private insurances companies is this..
1. Get young and healthy people paying for coverage that they rarely use so that they have more money coming in than going out for this group
2. Find ANY way to cut people from coverage if they have a catastrophic accident or if they get too old. They will find a way to cut you once it looks like you are going to start really needing your insurance. Even if they have to go back and look at improperly filled out paperwork from 20 years prior. And by improperly I mean things like a wrong date.
It's truly criminal. My personal belief is that medical care is a RIGHT not a privilege. The funny thing is that the people at the town halls doing all the screaming and fear-mongering are conservatives..who tend to be overwhelmingly christian. Whereas the liberals who want the public option passed are generally lean more towards the nonreligious side.
Why then is it that the Christians think companies should profit on the sickness of their fellow human beings?
While the atheists believe that everyone should be covered and there shouldn't be profit involved in sickness?
Did Jesus charge for miracles? hmm....but FOX won't say that....they are too busy lying to garner more power, influence and money.

all i ever say is for people not to rely on what they are spoon fed by television, advertising, etc, but to investigate it properly. its already a big struggle for anyone who is awake, to spread this very important word, but att he end of the day, all through history leaders have succeeded in mass culling. now they say the planet cannot be sustained unless the worlds population reduced by up to 50%. well what better way?

And mandatory vaccinations against swine flu? I don't know how things are in the U.K., but here in America you can refuse vaccinations. I think it would be more logical to fight against the regular flu since it kills over 10,000 people a year in the U.S.
I think Sen. Ted Kennedy's passing is going to be positive effect on the health care debate and I believe a Public Option will be passed now. Kennedy spent 47 years fighting for universal health care in the senate and it will be a sympathy vote. He was the 2nd most important American politician in the last 100 years behind FDR.
