Anyhoo, I am a bass player turned guitarist, but I stupidly got rid of all my bass gear as a result

Anyhoo, this summer I'm playing Bass in a band and so I need to get some new kit, but its only a summer thing so....


I need An amplifier that is:

Loud enough for smallish gig venues
has a Decentish hard rock sound (bearing in mind i'll be using effects)
Quite portable (preferrably a combo)
Very reliable
Pretty simple to use


Budget, around the £300 mark, can go a bit higher if needed, but it is only a temporary thing!

So, Any recommendations? I have been looking around and have a few ideas but I'd like to hear some opinions from people who have used amps

I use an ampeg, can't remember the exact model, but it was one of the cheaper ones. I just got it a few months ago, but i quite like it.
