Description:

This music album, a compilation featuring various artists from all around the globe, showcases our interpretations of Muse songs. The tracks were composed primarily on vintage handheld gaming devices and retro gaming consoles; which are used for their nostalgic and interesting sound of their lo-bit chip. This type of video game influenced music is often classified as '8-bit music' or 'chiptune'. More information can be found here and here.

Track List:

1. RushJet1 - Sing for Absolution
2. Sparkyboy - Plug-in Baby
3. Beware - Knights of Cydonia
4. Hurrigame Boy - Bliss
5. Microchip - Hysteria
6. RushJet1 - Apocalypse Please
7. goatslacker - Map of the Problematique

Artwork by: Sparkyboy

I thought it was quite an odd selection of tracks at first, but they work so well. I love them! I hope there'll be more in future

Haha this is great. I particularly love the 8bit plug in baby. Bliss could have been done better.

It is an odd selection. I would've loved to see some Showbiz on there and maybe a B-Side. There is a good chance there will be more. Thank for the listen

I agree, PiB is done well. I particularly love the sounds he uses for Matt's different parts. If you don't mind me asking, what's Bliss lacking? I found it quite entertaining.

Well I don't really like the sound for the arpeggio and I miss the bass line rhythm of the original.

The intro to PiB is really cool and it impressed my friends last night who didn't think it was going to sound good at all.

I'm listening to the 8bit MotP now and it's one of the only Muse songs I don't like but I think it's cool so good job.

Sunburn would sound good in 8bit btw . Hope there's more in the future!

Had the same extraction problems. I'm using XP, and tried WinZip and 7Z. The alternate file was fine though.

Bloody fantastic versions, my rating averages at 10. Some tracks deserve higher, while others deserve around a 9 or so.

Oh I remember Apocalypse Please and Sing for Absolution being uploaded here a while back and I've been yearning for more... They're fantastic, good job everyone involved !

I remember the artists on those files being credited to SomethingAwful, too so I asked some goons but didn't find out any information >;

I haven't used Windows in forever but I recall Winrar and 7zip as good file extracting tools.

If I had the skills to make 8-bit video games, I'd come up with some sort of Muse game and use this music.

I would love to play a Muse platform-game.

The final boss could be Warner. The 'princess' is the Youtube videos. The heroes are Matt, Chris, and Dom.

Note: the battles must take place in various places across the galaxy.

These are great. Knights of Cydonia is particularly good.
