i just recently discovered them and im loving them alot. anyone else heard of them? they were formed in reading, london i think. i love thier sound its a combination of Experimental Dream Pop/Shoegaze

Souvlaki is an amazing album, and Slowdive are an amazing band.
I'm not 100% sure...but When The Sun Hits might just be the greatest song ever. Don't ask me why, I can't tell you.

It's the second one I heard...and yeah definitely NOT what I was expecting but it's a gorgeous album. More than perfect for winter, too.

Everyhing they put out there is pure magic, Just for a Day is a terrific record aswell. But, if you haven't heard the Slowdive ep (Slowdive, Avalyn 1, Avalyn 2, you must to!
And Mojave 3 is worth a listen

ha we had a snowstorm on the eastcoast over the weekend, so listening to pygmalion was really something! sat there listening to the ten minute rutti and i was just going wth? is this really slowdive?! really digging the sound of it

Thats awesome. i prefer my bloody valentine shoegaze to slowdive shoegaze. none the less i like both bands

^^Actually the reason it took me so long to listen to Loveless is because Souvlaki sounded exactly the way I wanted Loveless to sound. And yeah typically I do prefer more of an edge but I think Slowdive are my overall favorite of this genre. I don't know why more don't talk about them?

Loved "Just For a Day", then I got "Souvlaki". Now I've discovered Pygmalion and it's a masterpiece that undoubtedly influenced Kid A. Why can't Muse ever make music like this?

I've been listening to Souvlaki for a month now and I have to say that this is one of the top albums of the 1990s. How come OK Computer gets all these raves when this might be a better album? All I know is the songs are the epitome of space rock but with lyrics about relationships & pot.
