Christ that's expensive. I pay 6 euro for a return whenever I go to Dublin, which is an hour on the train. Was definitely surprised with that price. What are buses like, do any of you know? What are times and prices like? Would it run after 12 or is there a timetable I can find? I need to get this sorted within the next two weeks!

I'm a nuisance, I know, but might it be easier to get a flight to Gatwick? My friend and I have never gone to a festival abroad, so anything that can help would be very much appreciated, thanks

Try splitting your ticket up say to a major train station in London (like Waterloo, Victoria etc.) and then get a ticket there to Reading which may be cheaper (check on nationalrail.co.uk!). Also, you could try to get a coach up there from a London hub which may be cheaper again. Check national express, greyhound and megabus for cheap tickets.

We managed to find a cheap train ticket site, will try to recover and post tomorrow.

Btw, James, we should definitely meet at Reading, recollect memories of when we tried to get Showbiz & TSP in the setlists.

haha that's right next to the station which takes you to Manchester. It'll be easy for you to meet up with Rob, Caville etc..
All the pubs around you are Irish bars though . The clubs are like a 5 minute walk away if that.

Oh and you also have a nice little strip club round the corner if you're in need of a job

This might sound incredibly stupid and for that I apologize, but I'm guessing I have to pick up my tickets at a box office in Reading. Should I email them (Seetickets) about it, just to make sure, or is it standard policy for all foreign ticket holders?

Just looking at past aerial pictures of Leeds. Is it difficult to get from the NME Stage to the Main Stage? I was expecting it to be difficult to get close but after looking at them pictures it seems like the whole of the "arena" is cramped full of people and it's very very difficult to get from a smaller stage to the main stage and be within the first 50 rows. Surely it must just look like there's more people from above?
If not then the army idea is sounding very good to me

Have you looked into sailrail with irish ferries? That's how I'm getting there. It's only around 45 euro each way for the ferry over and all the train connections you'll need to get to Reading. Obviously that's not helpful if you've already booked your flight though.
