How he didn't get onto the shortlist for player of the year will never cease to baffle me.

31 goals in 2011.
Only the 5th player to score 30 goals in a calender year in PL history.
Yet, Abidal, Fabregas, Xabi Alonso, Dani Alves and Suarez are deemed better players.
Good win for Arsenal today, up to 6th now!

Transferring Rooney out for Van Persie in my Fantasy Football team, then making him my captain, was an inspired decision. As was leaving Ryan Taylor out, who's single-handedly given Man City two goals, and putting Jagielka back in, who's just equalised for Everton.
Everything is finally falling into place for me. Now I just need some goals from Van Der Vaart, Aguero and a couple of clean sheets. Then I'll be dancing around, celebrating my huge point tally, and laughing at those people still sitting with Rooney as captain. Pah!
Edit: I bet Rooney scores a hat-trick today :P

Van Persie is the main reason I'm top by a point on the fantasy league :P

In the voters defense, though - he's at the best form of his life this last couple of months, by the time the votes had already gone in.

Great win for us today.
Newcastle fans were an utter disgrace. I heard a huge bang at the other end of stadium and saw a fight kicking off and turned out a Newcastle fan threw a firework at the City fans and then they ripped up chairs and started throwing them as well. No place for this in football and I only hope no one was badly hurt by the firework.

He's been playing like this for the whole of 2011. Fabregas is in, you know there's something wrong, seeing as RvP played more than Fabregas who was out for the majority of the season.

Pff, fireworks. Celtic fans had a Vespa scooter dropped on them in the San Siro. That was fucking ridiculous.

Feel a bit sorry for the England players who are pushing for a recall and are now just starting to hit form. Not another International until Febuary. Micha Richards was again excellent today, as he as been for the past 6 weeks or so. Michael Carrick won MOTM today and recieved special praise from Ferguson, which doesn't come cheap and widespread postive comments on the United forums, which is very, very rare.
Capello is gonna have a tough time picking that 23 man squad...

No he's not. He doesn't give a fuck about form or who would actually be best for certain positions. He already has his squad in his head and Richards could score 20 goals for the remainder of the season and he'd still overlook him. I also feel sorry for the good midfielders who get overlooked as he prefers to play a defender in midfield.

I believe that was the case a few years ago, but since the World Cup i think he generally picks his sqaud on merit. Hence the debuts of Walker, Smalling, Jones, Cahill, Parker, Henderson, Johnson, Kevin Davies, Zamora and more.
The only puzzling squad selection decisions he's made recently is the non inclusion of Richards, which im sure will be altered in future if he keeps his form up and picking Terry for the Spain & Sweden games.
Your comment has bitterness written all over it.

If he was picking on form, Terry would be straight out.
He seems to pick the names rather than the talent to me.

If Capello picked the team on merit then the back four would be Baines, Lescott, Jagielka and Richards. Simple as that. But he doesn't, he picks on reputation. Hence the continued inclusion of players like Terry, Cahill, Lampard etc.
And the fact that he continually ignores any players outside of the Premiership.

Well, Baines, Lescott & Jagielka all played in the recent Internationals? And im sure he'd pick Richards if we had a few more games coming up. I wrote off Lampard a few months ago, then he goes and scores a hat-trick, grabs a few more in the following game and scores the winner vs Spain. So i think his selection was justified.

? That's because there isin't any half decent English players outside the Premier League.

Fucking disgraceful. I'd make them play behind closed doors for the rest of the season. I imagine Eboue will be out of Turkey fairly soon.
Btw, Bulgaria got a £38,000 fine for their racist chants torwards England players in the game a few months ago.
No where near enough.

Stuck £5 on Napoli to beat City tonight. They're at home, and it returns £21, so I think that's a fair shout.

I might do that as an insurance policy. If city win i'll obviously be happy but if they don't at least I'll have won some money

United players are like girls. They just can't seem to understand the offside rule.

Not cheating time wasters though.
Still, cracking match and still undefeated. Also thankyou Italians

Glad I put the money on :P. Bit disappointed but not as much as I thought. We had the toughest group and gave it a good go, our time will come in that competition. I hope we play the kids in the Europa as I'd rather we just concentrate on winning the league now.
