Why wouldn't you respect him? Yeah he made that tackle, some great footballers are horrible shits, Maradonna is a fucking cheat, he was still one of the best footballers ever.
Keane was still a great fooballer, always gave 100% and gave a shit about the clubs he played for.
Watch the 2nd leg of the 1999 CL semi v Juventus...one of his best games in a red shirt...

I don't respect people who go out to physically hurt other people. It's a standard I have for regular people as well. They can be great at their jobs, but you can't earn respect by being a cunt.

Maradona was a cheat, but pure footballing cheat - didn't mean to end other people's career. Roy Keane is an asshole.

Hahaha. Deary me.
A 98th and a 101st minute penalty.
What a finish to that match.
Thank you Lucas and Kuyt, coming ever closer to the 19th due to the scousers assistance there.
Much appreciated.

Sorry Alex, it was unfortunate, but he had to add on extra for your penalty and the celebration etc, then Eboue was just stupid, as Lucas was going nowhere.
In close games, errors cost matches.

Ok, i am stunned by the PFA Awards. Fucking stunned.
I'll start with the PFA Player of thr Year........Gareth Bale
I've said it before, im a massive fan of Bale, i think he's quality, but no way does he deserve Player of the Year. No way!
He had a great start to the season, however he's done fuck all since christmas. Yes, he's been injured for 2 months, but that is totally relevent on why he doesn't deserve it. Compare him to Nani and Nasri for example. Played all season, been consistant all season, been quality all season. Plus Let's be honest his best performances have been in Europe....and since when did the Champions League contribute to the PFA Awards?
Just look at the stats!
Gareth Bale: Games 23, Goals 7, Assists 1
Nani: Games 29, Goals 9, Assists 17
Samir Nasri: Games 27, Goals 9, Assists 5
Fuck me, even look at the likes of Baines for example.
Leighton Baines: Games 33, Goals 4, Assists 11
?????
Oh and guess what? Baines didn't even make Team of the Year........Cole did!
WTF!!!!????
Jack Wilshere won Young Player of the Year, and as much as i like him aswell, it's questionable?
EDIT: Actually....i kinda take back what i said about Wilshere, he's fucking quality and he's the future of England.

I'd also like to point out statistically that Van Der Sar has the same amount of assists as Bale haha.
But yeah, VdS or Nani (even though I hate him with a passion) have been the two best players this season, and are two main reasons why United will win the league this year.
Take the pieces and build them skywards.

I've not seen much of Bale this season, in fact I've not seen much of anyone in the Premiership because it's boring as fuck, but you can't say he doesn't deserve it based on some stats. Whenever I've seen Bale play, he's done as much defensively as he's done going forward. Where's the stat for successful tackle %? Passing %? Defensive header %? Is there a statistic for successfully putting a winger under pressure and forcing him into a poor position or forcing him back up the pitch? These are all things that you need to watch a player like Bale do, and I don't see anyone keeping track of that.
Comparing him to players like Nasri and Nani is also a bit odd. They're both players whose only real role in the team is in attack. Neither track back very much and they're in the team pretty much to create goals and score goals. Bale started out as a left back and although he's been pushed up in the last year/18 months, he's still just as defensively minded as he is attack minded.
But... I don't know who I'd pick for Premiership Player of the Year. As I said, I've not watched much of it. But usually, you hear of one or two players having an amazing season. Bale is the only one I've heard about.

Best player this season was van der Vaart, no question. Nani would get my vote but he still gets knocked over by whatever light breeze ascends into the stadium.

Van der Vaart has been brilliant, as has Nani. Not sure who I'd choose out of those two, to be honest.
And how Cole beat Baines into the Team of the Year, I'll never know.
Small change got rained on with his own thirty-eight, and nobody flinched, down by the arcade.

|
|
I don't know why people go mad over Jack Wilshere, he's incredibly overrated.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Well that's your opinion, but considering the achievements he's made at the age of 19, I'm disagreeing with you.
When he was 14, he was deemed good enough to play for England U16s, when he was 15, England U17s, now he's in contention to play for the U21 championship and playing for the England first team.
He's also become a regular first team member of Arsenal in his breakthrough season, where's he's also been deemed good enough to win an award.
You can't deny he has talent, the only thing wrong with his game at the moment is his lack of goals. England's quite lucky to be able to produce the kind of talent he has.
tl;dr he's not overrated.
Take the pieces and build them skywards.

He is good but I hate what we do when we find a talented player in England. We're so desperate for a world cup we take any young 18-19 year old who shows some talent and the press go into overdrive and hype him up to fuck and we throw him into the england team and build him up so when he fails to live upto the unrealistic expectations they can destroy him. It's like Walcott all over again. Wish they would just let them develop their game a little more before throwing them into the frying pan of international football.

Who calls it the most entertaining league in the world? English people?
I watch Scottish and Spanish football and they're both more entertaining than the Premiership has been this year. Almost every one of the 'big' games I watch are hugely disappointing. Like Man Utd vs. Chelsea. Chelsea vs. Liverpool. Man Utd vs. Arsenal. Arsenal vs. Liverpool (the most recent one was only interesting for ten minutes, the rest was shite) ...all these games get so hyped up and they're always so underwhelming.
Usually it is quite good, but this season and most of last season have been really quite dull.

lol @ Scottish football more entertaining than Premier League.
