It was a two footed lunge off the ground, it's almost as bad. You can't do that in football.

Both were red cards regardless of any other decisions.

Take the pieces and build them skywards.

Rafael's challenge was a red card, simple and fact. If Phil Dowd (who, in my opinion, is the worst referee in the PL since Paul Gherkin) had shown him the red, and Carragher stayed on the pitch, there would have been outcry. He did the right thing by showing a yellow, even if the right thing was a wrong thing righting a previous wrong.

^That's exactly what I thought at the time.
If he had sent off Rafael then Man Utd fans would blame the ref once again for defeat (not that they aren't anyway) and they would actually have a legitimate reason to be annoyed. But with Rafael staying on the pitch, we were able to prove that we won through sheer talent rather than favourable refereeing.

Who's saying we lost the game cause of the ref?

Well, you didn't say that you lost because of him, but you certainly cited him as a contributing factor.

Not really, i totally agreed with Jame's post that stated, Liverpool were the better team and deserved to win. I was just saying that it was poor refereing decision, and that referees are being increasingly anoying.

Those three goals? They were soft as hell, even I could have scored them. United were shit today, that's what made Liverpool look better.

Not bitter, just the truth.

^I am absolutely certain that you could have taken it past 4 professional defenders and then stuck it straight through a tiny gap to the feet of a teammate. No doubt.

I would be a dreadful fan if I didn't boast victory to an outrageous level after winning the most important match of the season.

Some said that a few years ago, and then we won the European Cup for the fifth time, not that the average United fan can count that high anyway. Well, I guess they learn to count to 8 in stoppage time when they're losing at home. And you only need three fingers to pleasure your mother, so I guess you're fine with that as well.

...this thread is looking increasingly like a bickering session on 606. Stop it and look how awesome Biram Kayal is.

GET IN THERE B.

Also, Celtic were the first British team to win the European Cup. You can all suck Billy McNeill's big hairy baws:
