was impressive.

I lol'd.

He was though, even though he wasn't great you could see how hard he worked. Probably the quickest guy out there too and as I have said before he has a thunderbolt of a cross. Definitely promising. Nice goal too.
But Hernandez , jeez he is class. I don't understand why he is surprising people when we knew he was good.

I'd never even heard of Hernandez before the weekend. He looks like a quality player.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Great scouting from the club to have the deal done before the World Cup. His performances there assured me that he'd be good, but he just keeps getting better.

Maybe I'm biased but I saw him as our marquee signing, he was touted as Mexico's star up and comer if not star, and it was before the world cup I first heard of him as a number of big clubs were after him. My first impression was I can't believe he is that young and that good.
Just wish he would put Hernandez on his shirt and not Chicarito.

gah... wake me up Sunday morning and tell me we have won.

Also, I agree with Pulis. There should be bannings for divers and video evidence should be allowed.
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11701_6473856,00.html

I also think that it shouldn't go for just divers in front of goal, they really need to look at the rules about stopping a match due to injury. Because lets face it, if you are indeed injured you probably won't be continuing anyway, so that is fair enough stop the game, get a stretcher out and get off. But I feel that if the game has to be stopped just so you can get the magic spray and then continue then that is bullshit. I actually think it is a bigger blight on the game than diving in front of goal and can't stand it. The way I see it there is only two possible solutions.

First you could allow just one trainer on the pitch to come and asses the problem, do you really need a team of paramedics out there? It's comical really. So the one trainer can then spray the spray, give a drink etc... maybe even head to the sidelines for treatment if the player can hobble that far and play should continue. However if the trainer feels that it is a serious enough injury he then calls for the game to be stopped and the the player goes off and is sidelined for a minimum of 10 minutes while he receives treatment, like stitches and strapping or injections. 10 minutes is an appropriate length of time to receive the correct treatment and it wouldn't be rushed to get the player on asap. There is always the option a substitute can be made at any time during this period.

The second option is for those purists who believe the game must be stopped for an injury, and this one is more simple. If you cause the game to be stopped it automatically keeps you on the sidelines for 15 minutes. But you can be subbed at any time.
Personally I would prefer the first option, I don't believe the game should be stopped for any reason. And that stupid sportsmans agreement that see opposition teams kick the ball out of play when someone goes down is a joke, just get on with it, how often do you see a player get straight back up once he realises that no one gives a shit and the game is going on still.

And fuck it, while I'm at it there need to be a rule that says no short corners should ever be taken, the ball should travel a minimum distance.
This last one isn't really a problem just my personal preference.

So for the tl;dr crew.
Basically it's a slow morning.
If you need me I'll be having a nap.

True story.

Platini is such a backward twat. My favourite section is this, he contradicts himself enormously:

Backward French twonk
"One referee is not enough, not in the modern era where you have 20 cameras," stated Platini, who became Uefa president in 2006.

"It is unfair - the cameras can see everything but the referee only has one pair of eyes. Every time he makes a mistake, those cameras are there to focus on it.

"It is why for the past 10 years I have asked to change the job of the referee, to help improve the situation and to give the referees better support.

"These people are going to make mistakes and to be a referee I think you have to be a masochist. The system is bad and I have known this for 40 years.

"It is a logical step with so many cameras that can pick up incidents: the more eyes there to assist the referee, the better the chance of spotting those incidents."

He pretty much makes the case for integrating technology and then says a completely stupid thing right after. Merde.

Platini is a massive idiot.

Great day for football today as well! Gooners grab a late win, Sky Blues win at Sheffield and Man City lose to Wolves..

Small change got rained on with his own thirty-eight, and nobody flinched, down by the arcade.

I can't make my mind up over the Nani goal. It should have been a penalty, but if Clattenberg was playing advantage, he didn't do a very good job of signalling it. Felt a bit sorry for the Spurs fan, but judging the amount of chances they had in the final quarter, I doubt it would have made much difference if it had stayed at 1-0 anyway.

Good game, though.

Meh, he was fouled. It was handball, although could be argued accidental and the ref maybe didn't see it.
It's still a schoolboy error, in any sport you play until the whistle and that's why. Spurs wouldn't have scored anyway.

That was karmic justice for their beach ball goal, and also totally different circumstances.

Big win today, even if it was lucky. Up to 12th and only 3 points behind 5th, shame we have Chelsea next really.
