Why on earth would Madrid sell Benzema after 1 season?
There has been talk of it because he hasn't been good for them. But only if they get the £35m in full. They're not gonna sell him at a loss.
It may be the Daily Mail, but transfer rumours are transfer rumours. It doesn't matter who the source is at that point.
United need to get rid of Foster, Nani and Anderson anyway. Hargreaves needs to come back. And Berbatov needs to start scoring or fuck off. I've been a Berbatov supporter, but they need a quality finisher. Obviously Berbatov and Owen aren't.

Angola were 4-0 up against Mali in the opening game of the African Nations Cup with 11 minutes to go, only to end up drawing 4-4. Sounds like it was a decent opening match!

He is playing very poor until now, while Higuain is scoring in every match and playing amazing, and there are talks of an agreement with Ribery for next season.
Even without Ribery, right now Benzema is on the bench. If a team will offer £35m for him, Real will sell him.
Mali- what the fuck. I saw the first 10 minutes before the Real-Mallorca second half started and after it ended I forgot to switch back to Mali-Angola.. Fuck.

Yeah, they've tried to replace Higuaín before by a better (more expensive) striker, but in the end, Higuaín is always the one scoring and playing like hell. I've read that Wenger would accept to sell Fàbregas for Higuaín+35M. I think Real Madrid would be pretty stupid to accept that.

Yeah Higuaín has been fantastic. At this point I'd rather Man Utd pay an extortionate amount for him, rather than Benzema.

I read that too, I believe it's bullshit. It will be a big mistake, Higuain is the best striker for the second season in a row in Madrid, and I seriously think he is already one of the best strikers in the world, in the top 5 at least.
As much as I love Fàbregas, Real Madrid's central midfield is probably the strongest in the world with Lass, X. Alonso and Kaka, there is no room for Cesc.
Alex, I don't think Perez is going to sell Higuain. He is slowly establishing himself as the leading striker in the team, and he is clearly getting better and better each month. It's not realistic, plus Higuain himself said this week in an interview that he wants to finish his career in Madrid.
Benzema on the other hand is very realistic and I think that Madrid will be looking to sell him by the end of the season, at least if he keeps on like this.

Faaaaaair enough. United making a bid come summer is probably quite realistic then.
I got really excited when I read the words "Tom Hicks" and "left Liverpool board", took me a read through of the article to realise it said "Hicks Jr"

Yeah. To be fair, if you reply to a fan with "Blow me fuck face. Go to hell. I'm sick of you," then you deserve to be fired/resign.
In other news, good to see that Dossena has left, and possibly Babel too, if B'ham up their bid.

Mmmhmm.
Wish the Maxi Rodriguez deal would just go through already. I'd like to see Babel stay on until summer and to be given a chance, I think he's got the potential to be good.
Oh, and thank God Vorinin's gone.

I know. I wasn't saying it was going to happen. What I'm saying is that I'm sick of the Benzema circle-jerk going around. He was good in France but he is not worth £35m.
I'm generally sick of these over-inflated prices. At this point the best thing the EPL teams could do is raid Russia's league for players. There's some serious quality there and they haven't been asking extortionate amounts for their players.
I still think £20m for Akinfeev is a bargain. If he moves to a big club and doesn't crumble under the pressure, he'll be one of the best GKers in the world for the next 10 years.

Well done to Chris Foy, a victory for common sense tonight. It's 4-1 to City against Blackburn, it's the 90th minute, and Nzonszi (Blackburn defender) looks like he is suffering from concussion. 10 seconds later Givet looks to be suffering similarly. Instead of making Blackburn play the last 3 minutes of stoppage time with 9 men, Foy blew the whistle as soon as the 90 minutes were up. The game was over at that point, City had the points in the bag, nothing else was really going to change in that time. Well done Chris Foy, he even got praise from Alan Green for his decision. That's how good common sense it was.

Apparently the Arsenal site confirmed it and then took it down?
So it looks likely, but not completely 100% official. Remember Riquelme 'signing' for everton a few years ago? Their website confirmed it, but it wasn't true.

It'll be a nice backup for the defence for Arsenal, got the experience etc. so I don't think it's that bad, Jamie.
I'm worried about all this money stuff at Old Trafford. When I read about it, I immediately thought "Leeds". I just think if we offload the deadwood (Nani, Anderson, Welbeck etc.) and bring in a good midfielder and centre back, we will be fine. I think the goals are still there, Rooney is doing so well this season. If they get rid of him, we can consider ourselves royally fucked.

Worried you should be, James. It'll never come to a point where they go the way of Leeds... but the situation is dire.
Have you heard about the Glazers raiding Man Utd for £20m for personal stuff? It is ridiculous. They're treating the club like their own piggy bank.
I was reading on The Guardian that Real and Barcelona are lining up £70m bids for Rooney. If United let him go, then the club is as good as dead until the Glazers are usurped.

Hey, there are bad rumours floating around that we might have to sell Gerrard and Torres come the end of the season, can kiss Europa League goodbye if that happens.
Damn moronic American owners.

Yeah, I read about the Rooney thing this morning, but the source was The Sun so I didn't think much about it. I just think Rooney will stay as long as Fergie remains at the club. If the player and manager doesn't want to go, I don't think there is much the board can do.
For the first time since they moved in, I'm concerned the Glazers are ruining the club. Using transfer money to straighten the books? That's low, even for them.

I don't think that Rooney would ever leave. He seems to be in love with the club, and said that he wants to sign a contract that would keep him at the club until the end of the career. I heard about the Glazers taking money for themselves from the club. It's just getting worse and worse. First they buy the club with money that they don't have, then dump all the debt on the club. I really hope that they leave soon. At first I was a bit peeved when they moved in, as I though "Oh, they'll run it as a good business". I was evidently wrong, as they're running its finances into the ground. I hope that they up sticks and leave, putting the club back onto the stock market. Then season ticket holders/paying One United members get the opportunity to buy shares first, before they go on general sale.
