I thought Gerard Pique really stood out as someone who's really come on as a player. He was pretty poor when he was at Utd and he produced a great defensive display last night

Keyser_So_So :
honestly, i didn't expect last night's result or gameplay. Especially after Barca scraped through against Chelsea, I really thought Man U would have a bit of an easy ride- especially as they've been on fire throughout the tournament.

And to anyone who has me on facebook, ignore the ridiculously childish sneering about it. That's purely to hit back at a 'friend' who decided to write me a huge email about how pathetic newcastle were and posted on facebook "gutted Newcastle." who the fuck says that? Even a rival team's supporter wouldn't really push it that far when a team gets relegated surely? Let alone someone who supports Manchester United, who are posed little/no threat by NUFC. Aside from that time we beat them ;)

Chelsea completely closed down the game against Barca, didn't allow any football to be played and it was one of the most boring set of games I've ever seen. Man Utd actually tried to play football and failed badly, it was always going to happen if you've tried that against Barca.

Anyway, you're wrong with your last comment. When Palace played Charlton they formed a conga line, the whole stadium was singing 'we sent the palace down' to that Amarillo song and were taking the complete piss. I'm so glad it's completely backfired on them though and I really hope they enjoy League One next season.

ah thats pathetic! still, they got their just deserts i suppose. One of the joys of football is the friendly banter between supporters, but when it comes to things like relegation i just think its not on to take the piss out of a team/supporters and take glee in their misery. Thats the difference I guess, between banter and maliciousness really- taking glee in another team/supporter's dismay.

^ i agree. I'd never take the piss out of a team thats been religated. I think Newcastle being religated will do the club some good. It might put things in perspective, they can pick themselves up, dust themselves off and get on with it. I dont hate Newcastle, if anything i think the prem wont be the same without them. I just think they need to get themselves together... The club's been spiralling these last few seasons and tbh i seen this coming. It'll help them in the long run

As a Man Utd fan, today was the lowest I've ever felt as a supporter for a while. But I'm kinda annoyed about the media once again surrounding it asking lots of questions when the simple fact is that Barca were unfuckingbelieveable last night, and that everyone expected a walkover by United.

In truthfulness, Fergie did get it right, the first 10 minutes, we were amazing, Barca had no chance, but then suddenly against the run of play, we drop concentration and they scored, and that was it, we fell apart. So tactically, Fergie did fine, it's just the team suffered a blow to morality, and consequently fell apart because of it.

As for Ronaldo, I'm losing so much respect for the twat. He's a great player, but he's come out publicly and blamed the manager. Granted, he was our best player last night, but still, he should have put his hands up and admitted that it was the team, and not the guy who's in charge. If he really wants out, just fucking say so, so we can cash in big time and buy someone who might not act like a primadonna half the time.

At the end of the day, we got three trophies this season, which is still a fantastic achievement considering the amount of games we've had to play.

Well, last year he did say he wanted out, but Man Utd didn't want him to leave anyway. But indeed, he is a twat.

And I don't think Fergie is not to blame, because clearly, and say what you like about Giggs experience, he didn't have the pace to keep up with Barça game. Anderson was playing very well.

And now you feel, for the first time, losing a final in the CL. My team has lost 5 finals already (not that I've witnessed that).

pezzer_11 :
All i can say, well done to barca, deserving champions of europe.
Ten mins of decent united pressure, but as soon as eto'o bagged that goal, our heads went down and we played at their pace...at times it looked like we were running through treacle, second to every ball, half hearted, out played and out classed. Worst performance since city at home last year.
That said, full credit to barca, dominated the game, great passing, strong defence despite weakened full backs. Only player that pissed me off from barca was puyol the diving little twat.
I'm glad united lost to such a quality team like barca.
Lets be glad united got to the final. Good season, english champions, european cup runners up, world club champions, mickey mouse cup champions and a squad which can still develop.
There's always next season

This sums up all i have to say about last night perfectly, well done to barca they played well.
But damn i was shitty last night, not helped by Barca fans celebrating outside my place to all hours, guess that was beer is for. I dont think Fergie is to blame for last night at all and that Ronaldo wwas well out of place, the team just didnt show up and when they tried barca shut them down, outplayed full stop. Im starting to think that Ronaldo may be better of gone sooner rather than later, i am sure he his the reason Tevez isnt resigned yet. And if hes going let us know in the next week, im sure if he said he was off Tevez would stay and we will get Ribery. Not saying thats the best replacement or i want Ronnie gone but i would be shattered if Ribery turns out for chelsea because of him. Oh well still a good year over all, Well done United.

Ronaldo getting wound up last night was quite sad. It must've been frustrating but he was quite lucky the ref kept the game flowing, otherwise he might've been cautioned more, which would've reflected even worse on a player who then blames the manager.

I'm just wondering now if Man Utd supporters are begining to see what all the rest of us saw in Ronaldo from the start. That he's a whiney twat.

Football is full of whiney twats, the game breeds them its a shame really, and that breeds more whiney twat supporters. Ronaldo is a great footballer no matter what, i dont think i want him out like James but it would be nice to know where he is at, his paycheck his high and that money would be good to throw around.

Tevez would be a great signing if you were willing to pay that kind of money. Word is Karim Benzema is our main target this summer. I would love to get him, he's quality. We can easily recoup some of the money we pay for him by getting rid of Nani. Absolute waste of space.

Why do we want to get rid of Berbatov? 14 goals, and loads of assists this season. Not bad seeing as he was out for some of it. I think he'll easily get 25+ next season.

Nani is fucking wank though. Apart from two good goals, he's done nothing. Very mid-table PL team standard.

Because I don't think he's good enough. If a club was to purchase a £30m striker, i'd expect to see him in the starting lineup week in, week out. Sure, he's skillful, but he's hardly a goal machine. Stick Rooney back in the centre and get rid of Berbatov, no doubt you'd get more goals. He doesn't seem to click quite right with the rest of the team if you ask me, there's something not quite right. Maybe a Veron in the making :P

14 goals and a fair amount of assists isn't bad for a player who hasn't played that much though.

Anyway, you can hardly go on about rip offs, you're the team that bought Ryan Babel for £14 million and he's absolute shite.

Also, I hope all Liverpool fans realise it's 24 years to the day since some of your scummy fans murdered 39 Italian football fans at Heysel. RIP.

£11.5m. I agree he's been a bit shite, but i've heard he might be going for around £8m, which is alright. As for Heysel.. well, we all know the English are known for hooliganism. Not something to be proud of!

How many Liverpool games do you go to a season? In fact, how many have you ever been to?

In the end, hardly any fuss is made about Heysel so I only think it's right that it's recognised. The stadium may not have been in the best condition, but Liverpool fans still caused the surges which resulted in the deaths. Murderers.
