I think it's time for the new season thread! Anyone got any risky, out-there, pre-season predictions?

Are you gonna say that every season?

In all honesty, they could be the surprise package, now big Sam is tugging the reins.

Still, not that many teams match the quality. Tottenham are improving, Everton are doing well, but I don't think good enough, and Bolton have lost 'big Sam', and I just think 4th spot will still be chased by Arsenal, and personally, I see Tottenham as the next best thing outside the top 4 based on last season. So I can't see any major changes just because Henry goes. If Wenger leaves though, then I can see big differences.

Anyone else on here in favour of Sheff Utd been reinstated for next season then? Never going to happen, but I'm just curious to see who is on our side

Reckon Reading (my team) will finish mid-table. Safe, but nowhere near the lofty heights of last season.

Man Utd look unstoppable, Arsenal look shaky. Could see then 6th or 7th.

Tottenham are finally getting it together under Jol, reckon they're a certain 5th, maybe blagging 4th.

Down will be Derby, Fulham and Birmingham I reckon.

Well, if we're making predictions like that:

1. Man Utd
2. Chelsea
3. Liverpool
4. Tottenham
5. Arsenal
6. Everton

and at the bottom

16. Fulham
17. Sunderland
18. Wigan
19. Birmingham
20. Derby

I'm not saying it'll be exactly like that at the bottom, but those are the 5 I can see scrapping down there.

As for the top. Man Utd were unstopable last season, and they've got new players in, whereas Chelsea looked weak, and are doing nothing in the transfer market. I can see Man U getting the title again, and a little easier than it was last time too.

I can see Everton pipping Bolton into those top 6 places this year, with Arsenal struggling because of behind the scenes stuff. I don't think Henry leaving will affect them that much because lets face it, he hardly played last season anyway, so it can't affect them that much.

That's all I can say. Let's see how wrong I am come next year then. At least I've got it in a post, so I can refer back to it later

It's like you've read my mind. Good Prediction.

Except My Bottom 5 would have West Ham in there, possibly in the relegation zone. Perhaps Fulham will, again, manage to stay up! :P

Ah, well you see, West Ham's situation is a bit iffy right now. They've got money, but are still involved in this arbitration thing with us Blades, so their future is still undecided anyway. I do think they'll stay clear of relegation though, but I thought I'd leave them out anyway, because their fate is still undecided (although it's very very more then likely that they'll still be up there, with no extra financial punishment or anything of the sort, so I'm guessing they'll do average next season, with or without Tevez).

Speaking of Tevez, he's been linked with a move to Arsenal. (Mind you, in Arsenal's current situation I guess any striker's gonna be linked with us) Not sure about that one, and by that I mean I doubt Arsenal will make a bid for him. I wouldn't be suprised if we don't sign an experienced striker in the summer anyway, we'll be more likely to buy yet another young player.

What's peoples opinions on Sven, possibly, becoming the new manager of Man City? Will he be able to take City into the top 10, or possibly a UEFA place?

Fulham will stay up like always (but just) which is good because i can't find a single person who really dislikes them!

As for Arsenal, I'm dissapointed at their decisions really and i have to admit, we will be lucky if we reach 4th this year.

And no suprise, at all, but Sheff United's hopes of reinstatement have now been shattered. Matter of minutes ago, the arbitration panel voted in favour of the premier league and dismissed our claims. Ah well.
