Here's my list and why I think they're dark:
Con-Science: Good grief this song is dark, so brooding and then sounds like being dragged through a pile of broken glass when the rest of the instruments come in.
Megalomania: Quite popular as a dark song because it really really is. The lyrics in this song give me the chills and that slow building organ... *shudders*
Dead Star; The lyrics to this are dark. Just think about "Shame on you for thinking you're all alone, if you want I'll make you wish you were" I wouldn't like to be around Matt when he thought of that  .
Falling Down: I can't believe no one else has said this yet. Okay so its more of a sad song than a dark one but come on! Just listen to the way he sings "I'm falling away, because you broke my heart in two, no I cannot forgive you"

okay, now since i am in the mood and feel like it, i will really list all the ones i think are dark.
Futurism - so apparently during the end of Showbiz, beginning of the Origin era, Matt was in a bad relationship. (go in the Megalomania thread and someone posted a bit from an interview Matt did). there is a real concept of futurism, but i think there is more involved and it talks about... a really bad relationship with a flat out crazy chick.
Megalomania - not all about religion. it's dark, and the organ adds more of an effect to it. makes the song sound rather depressing.
Take A Bow -- lets just say, Matt really hates world leaders.
Space Dementia - apparently in love with someone he nowhere should be.
Micro Cuts - hits the nail on the head, basically. this girl is just making Matt flat out insane.
all in all, to me Origin of Symmetry was a very dark and cryptic album. it had a ton of emotion in there, and even though it's about technological advances and such... i think when you read between the lines of the songs, Matt is pointing out that whoever he was dating at the time was obviously not at all a pretty good or decent person.

I would say take a bow or apocalypse please. I mean take a bow is saying stuff like "You will burn in hell", and apocalypse please is well, the apocalypse which isn't exactly a very cheery concept to me.

haha yeah i listened to that, it's a nice making of. i think i once heard matt say stockholm was the hardest/darkest song (that hard makes it diff than just dark, but just throwing that out there). but yeah megalomania is quite dark, but it end on like a bombastic thing w/ a major chord at the end, so that takes a bit away for me

i heard that too; it is pretty dark and has a lot of negatives in it.
