Damn, that actually makes a lot of sense. I feel guilty, now... Because if that's true, when I see it happening I'll be like "yup, just as they said it would be". But if I didn't read that, it would go "wow that's so totally awesome!!"

That would be so cool!!!!

It also reminds me of Via Domus...did anyone play the game?
Coz at the end, our main character manages to take a boat to leave the Island and as he does that there's the electromagnetic discharge (Purple Sky) and he wakes up on the beach after the crash...except that a girl who was dead before is now alive.

But then how do you explain Michael getting off the island? Nothing changed with him...or did it?

what i want to know is why jack landed so far from the beach on the first episode. i think that has significance.

Same. I've ALWAYS wondered that. There is no explanation as to why he was so far away from the wreckage site.

It's a good enough theory.
Those idiots in the comments are saying it's black bamboo.
It has it's theoretical merits I'll give him that.
I passed my driving exam with flying colours, which is what I get for dropping acid immediately beforehand.

Yeah but Bernard, along with the pilot and the people in the lagoon where Paulo finds the bag...what do you make of those? I dunno if you remember but people got thrown off EVERYWHERE.
|
|
|
Yeah but Jack wasn't attached to anything as far we know. The Pilot was in the plane, Bernad and the other people in a chair which helped them live (except the ones in the lagoon). It just isn't possible to survive a plane crash ( i know) after having your body thrown a couple of yards from the site. Surely Jack would have automatically died if he were thrown from that plane at that speed.

That's true... But I don't know... I guess there's really only one way to find out if that theory is real.

I wonder if Vincent will play any part in that

Yeah, wait two years until it's mentioned in passing.
Sainsbury's are going to call me some time this week to tell me when to come in for induction; until then I'm sitting at home watching Lost from the beginning. Score.

But he had some shrapnel stuck in him didn't he?
Or was he just wounded?

Who? Jack? He had some shrapnel stuck in him, yeah.

So unless they explain that, cause he had didn't Kate stitch that up?
Plus he said he saw a dog in the jungle to Michael. And there's no transition between him waking up and going to the beach.
He just gets to the beach and looks around and there's the plane.

That does look suspiciously like a baton beside him. On the other hand, in that first scene he gets up, winces at the shrapnel, takes an aeroplane mini-bottle of vodka out of his pocket, and has all the same scratches on his face that he keeps for the beginning of season one.
So, I'm curious as to what a baton - or whatever it is - is doing beside him, but I'm not terribly confident in this theory.

The batton in the screen cap of the pilot may seem a bit too far. But the rest of it sounds really plausable! Well.....by Lost standards anyway.
And they obviously have to come back. How else are they going to keep it up for another 2 seasons!
or maybe they don't actually escape for another 2 seasons, and when we see them outside of the island, it's REALLY far into the future
i really don't know, i always have a theory and then when the next episode is on, it completely destroys my theory
This far, but no further

There is no way they could pull that off for another 2 seasons. Not in a million years.

do you really think all of our questions are gonna be answered by the end of this or the next season?

No questions will be answered by the end of this season. None. Guaranteed.
But I really doubt they'd keep up the "Ooh we gotta get off the island" for the next two seasons.
Next Season:
While Jack tries to get back, we'll see Daniel playing a more important role on the island, and we may possibly discover what the Dharma Initiative were doing on the island.
Ben goes after Penny.
Richard will become a more central character and Locke will probably go crazy!

Woo, I'm watching Lost from the beginning as well. I'm on Season 2 now.
But I thought more about this theory. We all know originally Jack was going to die in the first like 5 episodes, so it wouldn't make sense for him to teleport that early in the series when he was a marked man for death. Unless when Damon & Carlton knew people loved Jack, they had Matthew Fox reshoot that one scene with the baton before the episode premiered to the U.S. Oh damn, I just messed up my anti-theory theory.

Ok.... this was mentioned earlier in the tread. Moving the island?! When I read a post about this I thought it was a joke and laughed, but now Locke is saying that they have to move the island?!! How doe's he intend on doing that excalty?!

I know it's weird lol.
Ben said it was very dangerous and unpredictable to move the island. It would be cool if the volcanoes that are they just like exploded or something...Or wait, it could explain why the four toed statue was missing the rest of its body?
and "frozen donkey wheel"?? Now it has me thinking my theory on moving the island to somewhere cold is right.
