Technically, all you need to do to be a proper Christian is to follow the ten commandments, the latter six of which are just basic rules of society that most sane people follow.

After that the Bible is fairly pointless in a way.

Ten Commandments are more related to Judaism really. Jesus took the ten commandments and teachings of moses and the like and built on them. Many people find that the ten commandments arn't completely suitable for modern life. They're are good starting point, but they don;'t answer every question.

That's right. The number of people who think the Ten Commandments are Christian. There's no link at all, besides the general principle of them. But as an official 'item' they are of Judaism. Nothing to do with Christianty.
I shouldn't be doing this. I don't even have any Faith.

Jeff Buckley = dead in a totally arbitrary accident
Scot Stapp = alive, well and still singing

There better be no god or he's in a whole heap of trouble when I get my hands on him.

In Marks Gospel a man asked Jesus if he needed to follow the 10 commandments to get into heaven, and Jesus said you only need to follow 2, which are 'treat others as you would have them treat you' and 'Love God'. Which sum up all the 10 commandments.

I'm Atheist. I was Christened when I was 2 or 3 but I slowly revoked my 'belief' in God when I started to question the teachings and I realised that religion is a big contradiction. It was created by man, to control man.

omg..u think exactly like me..you've read my mind!!!

and has anyone noticed on that link by I like tea the guy in the costume says "muze" on the yellow florescant(sp?) thing? quite close to that band we like..you know...that one

im christian...

but the only two commandments that are very important, to me anyway, are... love god and love one another (just as Robfester said)

i dont believe most the bible... after all it was written by people...

but most everything just seems so designed (especially when you take physics...) i just find myself thinking there has to be a creator.

i can still see why people would be athiest though, it is a bit hard to believe even for myself

it is hard yer but thats what faith is about and there is so much questions about god but there is so much more answerd by god

And the bible was written by god just through the hand of man like we write stuff through pens but it is really us writing it.

Unless you have had some kind of interaction with a creator or a god there is no valid reason to choose Islam over Christianity or vice versa. There is no logical reason to choose one over the other as they are both just beliefs which can't be proven or disproven logically.

the world is one big jumble .....all our lives our different paths...sometimes they connect up, go different ways and interfere. The world was created through the laws of nature and science, rather as a result of a intelligence.

well its just assumed that these laws are the fabric of the universe. Its not that i try to argue against a god necessarily, its just i have not been convinced enough. Im a person trusting in visible results of sciences and maths
