Quote SuperAndy :
citizen erased
because of what it represents. a world without hope. hence darkness.
In my opinion, CE is not dark in general. The beginning might be, but there is much anger in the song and the last two minutes sound like a catharsis. There is too much power in it to be the darkest song. It's the same with Fury.
Con-Science is very very dark: His voice trembles at the beginning, just a very few notes in the background. The lyrics 'In fear, in sorrow' and strange sound effects. At the end Con-Science becomes powerful, too, but it's devastating power, to me.
Glorious is also very dark, but that's just a personal impression I get when I listen to it in the evenings driving home in my car.
Nishe, The Gallery - I think that many b-sides tend to be dark.
The more I think about it, the more I get the impression, that Muse made many dark tracks - or at least many you can see in a very dark light... It depends on your current mood.

Haha yeh I get that.
I dont no what it is but listning to music while you are driving and watching the scenery go past kind of makes the songs even more special.

Had such a special moment at the beginning of December. Was driving home, again, it was 10:30 pm. I was driving through a little forest and listened to Black Holes and Revelations. I'm not sure about the exact track, might have been Starlight. Anyway, I was drivin and suddenly I felt invincible. It was just that everything became so clear, in my eyes. I entered a village. There were those christmas lights and I saw everything in a new light. Felt like in one of those American series' where they are driving around at nighttime but it felt good. Was a very special moment, cause usually, i hardly feel optimistic or happy.

Showbiz or Ruled by Secrecy, lol.
Fury is a good contender too, though, and SS.
Might put Hyper Chondriac Music as a contender?
And finally, what about Hoodoo?
Small change got rained on with his own thirty-eight, and nobody flinched, down by the arcade.

Spiral Static scares me. It gets my vote. I'll get into it later.
I've had coworkers tell me that Take A Bow got to be too much once he starts calling for people to burn. I don't blame them -- that's a tough song to hear as the opener to a new album. And it is weird how Bellamy railing against religion usually ends up being extremely dark: Apocalypse Please, Fury, Megalomania.

Quote gc_13 :
Ruled By Secrecy definately, but also the first bit of Showbiz, Apocalypse Please (considering the subject matter), Con-Science, Forced In, HCM, Dead Star (except the chorus), Space Dementia, Citizen Erased, Screenager, Megalomania, Muscle Museum (maybe), and....... Intro!
deadstar defenitely sounds dark, with the vocals being all angry, and the subject matter of assassin and city of delusion is very dark (picking up a gun and killing somebody).stockholm syndromes pretty angry 2, any1 agree?
the 3 words 2 intro r pretty dark, ...ZIG HEIL! MARZ!
AIM !!! SHOOT!!!! KILL YOUR LEADERS!!!! - Assassin
