Space Dementia/Micro Cuts/Megalomania. The vocals on those songs are darker than a power cut during the eclipse. i bloody love it. :P

Those three songs are my favorites on OOS. Especially Space Dementia. Also think Ruled by Secrecy, Eternally Missed and Host are dark.

It's a tie between Space Dementia and Megalomania for me. One's got a church organ, and the other has that outro... that bloody awesome outro.

Take a Bow! = Interlude(the one after Citizen Erased) at Glastonbury

Its got to be Micro Cuts!!!

Lyrically and Muscially it's the darkest song Muse have done by far. In fact it's probably one of the darkest songs I've heard by anyone!

The extended version of Forced In from random 1-8 is DARK. Ruled By Secrecy, Megalomania, Microcuts,

and Interlude (tho not strictly a song) is pretty dark too.

Megalomania and Darkshines (<3) rank high for me, but the darkest has got to be Excution Commentary.....

Fury!!!

That mp3 there is the darkest performance of Fury I have ever heard, it's one of my most played on my iPod...I just get totally absorbed when he sings 'You're so happy NOOOOW'...I love the crescendo (getting louder, right?? :/) on 'now'. I just sink and get completely sucked into the atmosphere of the song.

It's an amazing performance.

Other dark songs for me have pretty much already been said...obvious ones like Darkshines, Con-Science, Host, Hyper Chondriac Music (I love this one), Micro Cuts (especially off Hullabaloo)...but what about Screenager? With lyrics like 'Hiiiiide from your family, they won't know you now...' I'd say it's pretty dark. And Bliss? Perhaps more envious than dark...but his desire to be as good and pure and free as someone else, and the realisation that he can never get that, is quite a dark, depressing theme.

It ate pickled nose cartilage that fell from the ceilings, a porkskin drizzle unnerving the humans.

I'd say it's a tie between Megalomania, Fury, Ruled By Secrecy, and Con-Science. I get chills whenever I listen to any of those. There's just this darker element that seems to really be captured on these.

Hyper Music - more of a 'Fuck you, I don't care' message of song
Hyper Chondriac Music - more of a 'Fuck you, I care too much' message of a song.

'Nuff said.

the darkest song? tough question.

i don't know much about the lyrics (i'm not an English native speaker), but i'll say ... Soldier's Poem. the music is sweet and romantic, but the lyrics... so bitter, so ironic. one of the smart pieces of Muse.

i think it is stockholme syndrome....when they played it at pinkpop in germany a few years ago, he opened the song with: 'this is our last song now, it's called stockholme syndrome ENJOY THE DARKNESS'. and yer i agree really, it does give quite fucked up images....especially in the chorus ('this is the last time ill forget u' etc).

i've always though uno sounds dark and angry. not necessarily the darkest song made by muse but it's another to add to the list of those already mentioned.
