Usually give it to someone more up and coming than Muse are, sensibly in a way i guess because some bands could clearly do with money more. My moneys on Guillemots or Hot Chip as alot of people have heard of but they're hardly established.

im surprised that they like that thom yorke album, its not particularly good. i think its quite boring. i read a review of bh&r where they knocked the arctic monkeys saying in case the arctic monkeys are reading, this - is a real album.

Ohh thats kool, a nomination for this will mean alot to them i'm sure.

Tom Yorke stands little chance of winning cos in my opinion his solo album plainly sucks.

It's a shame that the Arctic Monkeys are going to win like cos they don't deserve to really, there album isn't anything special at all, very little effort has went into it.

Quote
The nomination caps a spectacular 12 months for Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys.

Notorious for their loyal fanbase, who traded their songs online, the band's first album became the fastest selling debut in UK chart history when it was released in January.

*coughs*

im sorry but their fanbase is shite by comparison to muses

Usually the more well known people are favourites to win but on the night the artist that no one has heard of wins. The betting odds mean nothing with the Mercury Music Prize.

I cannot believe that Thom is a favourite!! WTF!
I mean I don't hate Radiohead or wtv but tbh "The Eraser" isn't that spectacular...

I wouldn't be suprised if Arctic Monkeys win... We all know how these things work!

Black Holes & Revelations should just win on Market success alone!! Come on!

thom isnt new

muse should win by a mile.. infact more than a mile.. by an extremly lengthy over extended mile, by the pure distance they are positioned at above arctic monkeys and yorke.
muse have achieved so so mucch more compared to what artic monkays have done, and what yorke has done as a solo artist

go muse!

Thom isnt knew.. i mean he can use all of his expertise and experience to make an album that he know will suit his audience best.. Radiohead have been around since the 80's onto there seventh album.. Thom isnt Knew... Muse on the otherhand are there relativly new in the field....there still finind there sound.. i think muse will get it for two reasons a0 everyone though kaisers where going to win last year and anthony and the johnsons won.. a rank outsider... artic monkeys are the obciuos choice where execs are concerned b)this is the first time mercury have nominted them they ignored absolution and got slated for it!
