Muse: we listen to The 2nd Law in preview
A few days ago, we have the opportunity to hear one of the hard rock the most anticipated of the year, even the most anticipated of the year. Check out our impressions of The 2nd Law , the sixth studio album by Muse , which will be available on September 17.
01. "SUPREMACY" (4:55)
The 2nd Law opens with a song whose title sounds familiar (you'd think Muse has at least one or two songs that contain the word "Supremacy", but not ...). No real structure, " Supremacy "recalls the moment" Kashmir "by Led Zeppelin guitar riff by his and his symphonic orchestration.
02. "MADNESS" (4:39)
While the machine seemed launched, Muse takes the listener against the foot with " Madness ", a song calm, sweet and languid, one is astonished to find so early in the tracklist. Electro arrangements are obviously thinking about Depeche Mode , as was the case with " Undisclosed Desires "on The Resistance .
03. "PANIC STATION" (3:03)
The pace again with " Panic Station "and his bass leaping to the Red Hot Chili Peppers . In both funk and disco ( Muse dared brass), this song looks like a single power. It would not be surprised to hear on the radio a few months.
04. "PRELUDE" (1:03)
" Prelude "is none other than the introduction of the single" Survival ", the official anthem of the London Olympics in 2012, that Muse unveiled on the canvas late June.
05. "SURVIVAL" (4:17)
Hard not to think of Queen listening to " Survival ". From the intro, the ghost of Freddie Mercury hangs over this piece that passes more easily after the first three titles on the disc only listens. However, " Survival "he will become a classic group like" Plug In Baby "," Time Is Running Out "and" Supermassive Black Hole "?
06. "FOLLOW ME" (3:51)
It continues with " Follow Me ", a title that will crescendo starting with light layers of keyboard accompanying a voice that sounds like an echo, on a pace to finish almost dancefloor driven by a low buzzing. A title that is unusual.
07. "ANIMALS" (4:23)
" Animals "begins on a rather fast tempo that announces a barrage of riffs ... which never happens. The piece, which recalls the time Radiohead , is racing slightly with a guitar solo actually quite short. We feel that it holds the horses throughout the song. The damp squib of disk ...
08. "EXPLORERS" (5:4

The signature voice of Matthew Bellamy hit the nail entry " Explorers ", a ballad in the vein of" Blackout "on Absolution . " Can you free me from this world , "Matthew sings on this track which turns out to be the least surprising of the disc.
09. "BIG FREEZE" (4:41)
Confusing, " Big Freeze "is the contrast! Just like " Panic Station ", this title goes beyond the usual and engages in a clear way funk. The result is stunning! Nevertheless, it still recognizes the leg Muse on this title that could also serve as a single.
10. "SAVE ME" (5:09)
The first "break" from the album comes with " Save Me "on which Matthew Bellamy leaves the microphone to bassist Chris Wolstenholme . The transition is somewhat confusing because the voices of the two musicians are totally different. Chris gives a record far worse than his colleague.
11. "LIQUID STATE" (3:03)
" Liquid State ", the second title composed and sung by Chris , is undoubtedly the album's most rock of The 2nd Law . Chris's voice is almost reminiscent of Maynard James Keenan , lead singer of Tool , at times.
12. "THE 2ND LAW: UNSUSTAINABLE" (3:4

As on The Resistance , the album closes with a song in parts. The first, entitled " The 2nd Law: Unsustainable "is already known to all, as this is the teaser that has caused so much ink since it went online. It is the only way influenced by dubstep. The English group likes to play with the media who have seen fit to announce an entire disk too quickly influenced by the latest electronic music trend in fashion.
13. "THE 2ND LAW: ISOLATED SYSTEM" (4:59)
The second part of the song, " Isolated System "begins quietly before leaving on a more sustained pace. No song on this title where the keyboards size the lion's share. The song ends with a female voice in a loop.
GOOGLE TRANSLATE -- obviously, hehe. You can make sense of it though.
