I am really happy they focused more on the competition than on "we are all winners" that's so stupid, of course it's about winning!

I'm working with the Staging Crew for when they first play this live at the Olympics. State of the Art show, which Matt and the lads have been involved with. The last third (around the four minute mark) of the song is something special, the way the entire stadium turns into something out of a sci fi movie. Obviously not allowed to give many details, but it's completely epic. Something like 300 performers involved. Amazing CGI. Set the whole stadium on fire, literally.

Of course it's going to be ridiculous, it should be. I want to watch it and be like, wtf did I just see.
And I guess it's also going to be their first live performance in almost a year.

You talk like when a band wants to play a show they just turn up with nothing and start playing. And quite frankly, like anyone, they charge what they can get away with charging, how is that a bad thing? That's business.
See, this is another point that annoys me. Sure I get the fact there is inflation and various reasons for high ticketing costs but some bands actively set out to reduce these costs and that's just because they are honest enough people to realise fans are getting screwed over and don't have an agenda to push.
Muse however have been shoving this agenda down our throats for years, what with the fat cats and corporate greed and other such folly and by all reports we are on the road to another thematic album based around the living an unsustainable life. So while they're preaching about one thing they're doing the exact opposite in real life. I mean they're not even trying to pretend anymore.
So yeah, forgive us if we expect that they may actually care about the little person.
As for what the band are spending on visuals, who cares. That shouldn't even come into it, they're hardly on the bones of their arses so if they want all that wank then it should be out of their pockets not ours. I think most fans would gladly sacrifice that rubbish if it meant affordable ticket prices.
Infact it's got to the point now that they have cancelled gigs in Scandanavia with low ticket sales and are not even bothering to show up to other towns at all that have been regular stops on their tours purely because they are too big. Not too mention it's not exactly a sustainable stage show is it?
So yeah business right? I totally get that, but it's about time they grew up and stopped this preachy crap. As it's been said, there is no respect in that.
If they're going to play stadium size venues then you bet your ass I want stadium quality visuals to go along with it. Playing a small intimate club? Forget them. But if you're in the upper level somewhere you can barely see the band...you know (presumably) what the music sounds like and yes a normal person would like some damn lazers all over the place!

As did Take a Bow. However, take out "chorus-less" and that description fits those songs.

He's very much a "I like these people, therefore they're great" and "I dislike these people, therefore they're terrible" kinda guy, and goes on ridiculous rants. He spent over half an Editors live review slagging Interpol off and saying they should die.

I finally got around to listening to the song backwards, it sounds like there is some sort of anti-establishment stuff but I couldn't get all of it...I could make out:
Fear, first to citizens living in fear, business as usual, falling down.
Fear, related to this too...
Like I said, there's more, but that's what I could hear for sure.
