Well, except from the fact that I don't like Matt's haircut (but that happens like 80% of the time ), the interesting info I got from the interview is that Survival was written a year ago.
This pretty much confirms what many people pointed out, the fact that this song feels very similar to the Resistance ones.
I'm guessing this has to be the first song they wrote after TR (and Neutron Shit).
I think Matt's just trying to impress Dom by growing more facial hair, trying to show dominance over Chris' mighty moustache history....

Good point above about being one of the first new songs written past TR... They wrote loads after R&L festivals... So hopefully they took on board a bit of Origin spirit xD (which I doubt a little, even though there was the 7 string riff in Survival... But we'll see I guess!)
