this is one that has plauged me for ages but from my last gig i have my fuzz factory phase 90 and my graphics equaliser running through my guitar circuit and have my xt live both whammys and my DL-4 running through an FX loop.

As for the XT buy the metal pack for it because it can model the diezel VH-4 and sound great for playing time is running out all failing download the big tom, tremelo mindfuck and the godsmack tone from http://www.customtone.com

wow...you guys have mucho puntos....I was a fan of the budget approach...

Guitars:
Crafter TCL70/RS Electro-Acoustic
Marlin ???? BC Rich Mockingbird copy (I know nothing about this particular guitar, its just very heavy...)

Then I have what i thought was an extensive pedal board until I saw what you guys have:
Carlsbro Wah-Wah
Digitech Whammy Reissue (just the one, lol)
Boss OC-3 Octave Pedal
Digitech Grunge distortion (although it doesn't sound like Matt it sounds what Matt would sound like if he had a budget of £40 for his distortion)
Boss CE-5 Chorus Pedal

Usually in that order and ran into the band's PA (I'm also hoping to get hold of Boss compressor and EQ and maybe one day delay and reverb although I'm looking forward to buying a PH-3 phaser...all just dreams right now though.)

I have an interesting order which I was experimenting with today which you may like to read, its inspired by the solo from Hysteria:

Guitar --> Chorus--> Whammy --> Octave --> Amp1
--> Wah --> Grunge --> Amp2

The chorus was set to be really slow but deep, the whammy was set an octave up. The octave pedal was set for distortion only, the grunge was set to OTT. Amp 1 had a heavy delay on it and Amp2 was just the line-in on the same amp.

With a bit of playing around I found you could get some really good far-out synth type sounds from this arrangement.

Does anybody else use some unorthodox pedal sequences? Actually, I'll go and set up another forum for that...

Keyser_So_So :
OK, I got a bit of Christmas money, so I decided to replace my DOD FX-7 with something more proffessional sounding, modern and more expansive effects wise. I got myself a Digitech RP80, and I'm loving it. Anyone who wants a Muse sound on a budget should go for one (£59 from www.gak.co.uk), as it's got everything you need minus the fuzz factory's craziness. I was especially suprised by how damn good the whammy is on it, it's as good as the proper single unit and I have used Digitech's snazzy X-series (and I own a multi-chorus from that series) and all the effects are as good as those stomp boxes.

i just looked this up and it looks great! thanks for recommending it. it even has a drum machine on it...lol. but is it a proper effects unit or just an amp with effects? are the effects really that good quality? i don't have any effects as yet as i'm just starting out (i just have a guitar and amp), so i'm looking for something relatively cheap, but i'd like it to be good quality too. any further advice / info would be much appreciated.

I wish I had the money for some of the stuff some of you guys have got. Heres all my gear:

Fender Strat Standard
Fender P-Bass Standard
Leem 100Wt Combi-Amp
Zoom 707 MkII Multieffects
Russian Big Muff
Boss ODB Bass Overdrive
Dunlop Wah

However onstage I use the bass and the big muff, ODB and dunlop to get some funky sounding bass sounds. I get a pretty authentic Hysteria-sound with that.

One of the first piano here, if not the first.

I own a Technics SX-P50, last version.
Technics Sustain Pedal
2 Voice System, Active Speakers.

Pretty basic amps, but my keyboard totally rules. Amazing for recording session with an MP3.
