The entire young culture of America who didn't know what they where has discovered them all at the same time due to universities making their own personal ones, so facebook newsfeed is just constantly filled with them, 90% of them shitty or not even funny.

I don't put anything on FB, but it's still a creepy stalker program, the Timeline makes it even worse.
I know a guy who works for the Facebook security team. His argument is a very good one. Facebook is a tool. It can be used to share certain pieces of information with friends that would otherwise go unshared. You can filter what information goes to who. It's a tool. Nothing more.
If you're going to post about everything that happens in your life and slutty pictures on a publicly viewable profile, be prepared for some sort of feedback. This is the internet after all.
True, people post this stuff themselves, so they are to blame for that. But FB invites people to share more than they would usually do, without informing them about the consequences. I think most people don't know who can see the stuff they post, FB isn't very open about the ways you can hide info.
And most people don't know how scary the internet in general is and that it saves everything you do.
Maybe it's just me but I'm very 90s about the interent. Everyone's a pedo who wants to fuck your little sister or meet up with you and murder you.
Maybe I'm just not very trusting. I know it's not like that but I just can't imagine ever meeting with someone from the internet. As such, all my internet content is private.
This site is different cause nobody knows who I am.
Although have met someone randomly in a pub in Dublin who knew exactly who I was from this site.
I dunno.

I wish I had always done that. I deleted all info from FB a few months ago, but that was probably too late anyway. I have a "friend" on there who writes his diary entries in English and then posts them on FB. You can know everything about him, he's just not bothered with privacy.
It's quite scary that some random guy in Dublin knew who you were! This site knows most about me too, and I have met people from the here before, but I trust them.
I've been thinking about creating different email addresses, because I use just one address for everything which probably isn't a good idea... but maybe I'm paranoid  . I'm happy google can't find me though.

Yeah, I know a few people who are like that but I actually just blocked their content from page because they became incessantly annoying. And it was always incredibly pissed off, indirect messages to "someone". It was stupid.
Oh I've several e-mail addresses all with different passwords but they all just link into my G-Mail account which I use primarily now. Except for one address which is used for... ahem, certain private endeavours. 
Ah I didn't mind seeing the person in Dublin. It was a nightclub situation and it was one of the Irish girls who seemed like a genuine person. Plus, she's hot.

I've seen it on a few people's pages and I didn't like it. I guess its something I could get used to, but mine hadn't changed the last time I checked, whenever that was, so I thought it was optional.
