Quote bighead00129 :
Douchebag is the proper name, everyone just says douche
Still lame.
But then, I'm also thinking of it from an English perspective. There is absolutely nobody who is English that could say douchebag outloud and not sound fantastically uncool. If I called someone a douchebag in the pub tonight, I'd get punched, and not because the person was offended, but because I'd have let myself and my friends down, and I'd need to be put out of my misery. I just said it outloud to confirm my suscpicions, and I almost punched myself. Some words are just so American that an English person saying them sounds like, well, a douche.

Unretainable is not an English word? I can't for the life of me see why not, but still.
Anyone know a word that does exist and means the same?
Sentence: A romance founded in reality, XXX as it is for her.

"Ir-" would be the proper prefix for a word beginning with the letter "r" but "irretainable" sounds pretty peculiar to my ears (My spell checker isn't complaining, though, so maybe it's a real word). Anyway, for the sample sentence you give, I'd use the word "unattainable." It's not quite the same thing, but it sounds much better.

It's just one of those things that's useful to know, like proper etiquette in the event of a fire-breathing moose outbreak.

I would go their for her live video collections of Muse, and news, but it says she deleted it all together? What a shame

But still, to think of all that time and effort put into that blog, just got deleted, just like that, is quite sad. Oh well it was great while it lasted!

A lot of the pages are still cached by google. Use this link, followed by the address you want (without the "http://", see below for example with the march 2011 archive):

For some reason, the main page is not cached, but many of the others are. Here's one to start you off: march 2011 archive

When do you write "defense" and when "defence" (s or c)? Google says they're both correct, but when I type it now there's a red line under "defense". What's the difference?

Aha, that explains why Google says both are correct, then I will use a c from now on, thanks!

It comes from Latin defensa, so the real spelling is s and the British is c
