Okay. I think we all love doing this voting and lists and stuff. So I propose a list of ML's top albums of all time. I think something like this has been done before? But here comes a new version. I'd like to know what you think about how many albums should be on the list. I'd say 25 is probably a pretty good amount. It lets you actually get a lot of your favorite albums on the list, without making it a job that'll take several months (or at least hopefully not).

So rules are pretty simple. You vote for (up to) 25 albums. You can either vote in this thread or PM me. PM'ing me will leave more surprises when the results are revealed, however posting in this thread is also crucial to keep it alive and visible. Scoring is simple. #1 gets 25 points, #2 gets 24 points etc. If you only post 5 albums in your list, that's fine. Your #1 will still get 25 points and so on.

Currently I don't know when I will close this. When I feel a sufficient amount of time has gone by and I have a decent amount of votes, I will send out a warning (probably 1-2 weeks prior to closing). So if you plan on participating, leave a message here or PM me and I'll send you a warning PM to remind you before it closes. If you want to change your list: Please quote your original list and then leave the changed list underneath. This is the ONLY acceptable way to change your list. Other ways of changing will not be accepted.

For now, the only requirement for an album to make the list is to get more than one vote. This is subject to change depending on the number of votes. I don't want 300 albums in the actual list as that will take forever. If 2 (or more) albums have the same amount of points, tiebreaking procedures are as follows:
1. Whichever album has the most different votes will win. If they have an equal amount of votes, then:
2. Whichever album has the highest scoring individual vote. If they both have the exact same voting pattern (eg. a #1, #7 & #22), then:
3. Whichever album has stood the test of time (released first) will win.

You are not allowed to vote for live albums or compilations. EPs are allowed.

Happy voting! I'll work on my own list the next week or two and hopefully have it up soon enough.

Interested people:
lots of people.

This should be interesting. I'm in, but I don't think you'll get a representative amount of lists.

Good to see some interest in this.

Edit:

21. Kashmir - Zitilites
22. Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
23. Coldplay - X&Y
24. Kent - Du & Jag Döden

7.) Muse - Origin of Symmetry
8.) The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
9.) U2 - Achtung Baby

Haha, thanks for deciding for me! Blue Valentine is fantastic so I don't mind I'll edit my list to take out Rain Dogs.

And I know, I put OK Computer lower on my list than most people. But it is there, no list is complete without it!

Kid A, Achtung Baby, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution are four albums I predict will be in the top ten. Not trying to say this list will be predictable, I just like trying to guess what the outcome will be so I can look back when the results are posted.
