Of course, the post is from 2006. That explains why The Resistance's cover is their profile picture

May 3rd is a Thursday... who the hell releases an album on a Thursday?
That's one of the smaller reasons to say that it's not true.

Depends on what you define as early for another album. It'll be what, 2 and a half years since The Resistance? I would've thought it'd be three years, but obviously we don't know what has been going on behind the scenes.
As for them being hacked, surely they'd have posted something about it by now?
It's been 2 and a half years, but they've pretty much just gone into the studio with nothing but some ideas. The BH&R tour ended around the same time as the Resistance tour and the album didn't come out until September of the next year. I'd say the same time will be spent for the 6th album.
Plus I don't think they'd make a release date this early.

It's amazing what people can do with MS paint these days.
So October 2012 could be happening.

I really do think this one might be a heavier one... they seem to rock hardest on this tour than Abso and Black Holes, with the riffs etc, so maybe they want a few more riff songs like that
I mean they must have caught on the fact that pretty much every dedicated Muser like ourselves has bitched about The Resistance at least once (i have finally decided that i do like the album- i mean come on, its amazing live!!)
And the fact that they just went back to their Origin roots might inspire them again in the same way
12/11/09 - O2 Arena
11/09/10 - Wembley Stadium
29/08/11 - Reading Festival
27/10/12 - O2 Arena
18/02/13 - Shepherds Bush Empire
25/05/13 - Emirates Stadium
26/05/13 - Emirates Stadium
They get better everytime I see them!

I actually dont think they care much about the fact that pretty much every dedicated Muser like ourselves has bitched about The Resistance at least once. The Resistance has easily been their most successful album. And if they're aiming for bigger influence on the American market, I think we could be seeing something similar to The Resistance. Not necessarily more pop'ish. But maybe more "anthems" like Uprising. Something slightly heavier but easy to listen and sing along to.

Someone from tumblr bumped into Dom 2 days ago and apparently this is what he said
Quote expect heavy stuff on the new album and Chris possibly singing a song - this is what Dom said but he also said things might change so who knows. OH and they have 12 songs really to record already!!

I can see them letting Chris sing a song, he's got quite a good voice. and i dont think it will be heavier, in loads of interviews matts said he wants to go down the pop/ dance route in regards to songs like undisclosed desires etc.
Fingers crossed for a riff album though.

"[The band] feel like we are drawing a line under a certain period of what we’ve done in our career. It feels like it’s time to move on and do something radically different.” - Chris
Oh wow I hope Chris does sing on the new album

I used to really like Muse (the 12000 posts is a bit of a giveaway), but I think that The Resistance is terrible. It's shocking. So I'm glad that they said that they want to do something different because I can't even envision them making something worse. However, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they prove me wrong.
(I could put something really funny and intelligent here, but that would just be showing off.)

Hmm I have a strong feeling it may be somewhat similar-ish to The Resistance. As if they were to continue with the 'radically different' thing.
But still I could be well wrong, just keep hoping ;)

It's hard for me to imagine them releasing anything other than a TR/BHAR style jack of all trades master of none patchwork quilt of half baked ideas and vapid stadium singalongs. At this point in my life I don't really care, either. I mean, if they bring out a good album, great, I'll listen to it and pat them on the back. But I can't really see it happening.
Doing something radically different is something they really need to do after the last shambolic album. They need a focus, because this cover all bases mindset they've used on the last two albums (moreso Resistance) is totally counterproductive. The albums lack identity and that's leading to the band themselves losing theirs.
I forget who it was (Q or Rolling Stone I think) who said in their review of The Resistance that it's alright but it makes you wonder what the point of Muse is? And that's true. Half their songs just sound like better songs by better bands, or first attempts at covering other genres. There's no integration with their own sound, and as such, they become more like a covers band than a band with their own identity.

The thing that annoys me is that they're completely remodeling their sound and not leaving their identity with it, and just releasing a mad mix of songs that nobody really cares for after a while. The only success they had with that was the last few tracks of BH&R, I think.
They should be more like The Mars Volta and consistently change but maintain their sound. Maybe Omar could contribute . Ah Muse, I am skeptical, but I do have SOME hope that the next album will be great

They should try do a "harder" OOS type album, and then the 7th album should be more like Gothic Plague :P (I NEED TO FIND THOSE TRACKS SOMEWHERE)

It's practically confirmed that they are also recording here
The bricks in the Tom's twitpic match up plus he also tweeted the pic of Morgan with Bob Dylan's old bus. And we know they're in California (also thanks to Tom).
