I reckon it's Chelsea's squad which is letting them down. So many of their players are shadows of their former selves. Terry, Malouda, Torres, Cole... even Drogba (I know he hasn't played as much this season, but he's barely done anything during his appearances). Lampard has been pretty good, not gonna lie, but the only players who have really impressed me are Sturridge and Mata. That squad was pretty much perfect when they were at their prime, but they've been too reluctant to move things around and it's started to cost them.

In a way it's quite entertaining, but I've always enjoyed seeing Chelsea challenging the other big clubs. I don't like Chelsea in any way, really, but they've entertained pretty well over the past few years in the title races.

Small change got rained on with his own thirty-eight, and nobody flinched, down by the arcade.

Scan through these pages to about two years ago and you'll see a post from me stressing that theirs a difference between having experienced players and just plain old players. And that Chelsea has the latter, and it would eventually come to haunt them.

........just gonna give myself a pat on the back

Yes, because it should never have been a penalty in the first place, Rio gets all of the ball and none of Ben Arfa. Not even close to being a penalty

I've not even seen it so I can't comment. I just know that we're never going to hear the end of it now, like it's some sort of huge outrage that a referee dared to make a bad call against United.

I need to see the penalty, I've been told it was a clean tackle, but I've also been told that Ferdinand jumped in with both feet, and if that is the case, then it's a dangerous challenge regardless of whether he got the ball.

Two feet?

No one has been bitching about it here yet. Sort of.

At the end of the day we had every opportunity to finish them off but wasted chances plus through their excellent defending at times.

Premature, bias bollocks.

Im 18, low on cash, paid out £35 for the ticket, £25 for transport, £10 for food, spend a combined total of about 1 hour and a half standing up on various, packed, forms of transport, got piss wet, watched my team put in an ok performance and then to have an individual who gets paid £30,000 a week plus bounus to totally fuck you over and fail to do his job.....i thinks it's then pretty justified for me to have a fucking moan.

It was a fucking great tackle. End of.

Wait, referees get paid £30,000 a week? It was a bad call, nothing else. It happens in football.

And Paz said it, you had plenty other chances to win the game. Yes, it's a shitty call, but it happens all the time. I genuinely can't remember the last time Manchester United had a shitty decision like this go against them.

Wow, watching the highlights, Rio Ferdinand is a certified cunt. It was an arguable penalty, but there is no situation where someone should be allowed to react as he did. Grow the fuck up.

Anyway, I find it funny how no one's mentioned that the United goal came from a free kick which was in no way a free kick.

And it was a free kick, Hernandez got between player and ball and the was contact. Not even a debate.

Apparently so....

Yes, yes referees are twats, but they don't get any help from Fifa, which makes them the overall twats and brings us to the conclusion that football is a cunt.

Yeah our finishing was pretty average, if not poor.

Well of course you can't remember as all refeeres are United fans, obviously.

And I don't see you raising Ben Arfa's reaction to Rooney's attempt to win a ball fairly (even the MoTD ABU conclusion), running half the length of the pitch to square up to Rooney, surely at least a yellow card?
If that was Rooney you'd have been frothing at the mouth.

Just seen the Rio tackle close up for the first time then and im genuinely shocked It's a really, really fucking bad call. Fergies called it "one of the worst ever" - It really is baffling.

And in no way, shape or form is Rio's reaction childish or in cunt like behaviour. Once again proving how much shit deadstar666 chats.

Would you be making the same fuss if the ref gave the call against Newcastle and United won a penalty? No didn't think so. Until they bring in video evidence all teams will continue to get their fair share of bad decisions go against them so stop throwing your toys out of the pram because for once one went against United.

I wouldn't kick up as much of a fuss, no, as it would have been beneficial to the team. Much the same as you would not, had it been for City. That's a ridiculous statement trying to undermine an entire point based on a general point which you know the answer for every football fan.

However I would admit it was a shocking decision, I'm not Arsene Wenger and I can see admit when it shouldn't have gone that way. I'd reiterate the need for video technology and state we probably should have beat them without the need for such a decision. Even in that circumstance, I can admit it's a terrible call and feel abit embarrassed it helped my team undeservedly.

And I like how it's "for once," plenty of decision go against united and they're generally costly.

Alex, atleast there was contact there, that's a contentious, but arguably correct, if very, very soft, decision.

My rattles are firmly in my pram. I've not been distraught. I'm just a bit disappointed that a game where we actually played well and attacked for once was hindered by an abysmal decision.
We'll pick up and carry on.

Also Madrid currently bossing La Liga, as Barcelona slip up again v Getafe.
